My doctor gives me such a run around, it's hard to get them refilled on time, much less getting help for the future. I usually have to spend several days going through terrible pain and withdrawal sickness before they get around to signing a piece of paper for a refill. They're too busy for me, they say. Nice, huh? Does anyone have a doctor that is better about this, or will I have this problem with any I go to?
Guest guest
I don't have a solution for medications being kept aside for emergencies but it shouldn't be so hard to get a prescription filled for a 90 day supply. That's dreaming I know, but chronic pain is not going away or it wouldn't be called chronic. I feel it's medical malpractice for a doctor to force a person to go through withdrawals because that can be life threatening. It's important that the doctor understands this is happening. Write a letter addressed to the doctor personally and ask for an explanation and a better way to get your prescriptions written on time so that you don't miss any doses. Pain management is the goal, and if the doctor doesn't agree, find another doctor if possible. Jennette
