Guest guest
Wow I think I must be very lucky to live where I do and have the doctors I do after hearing about all of you and your experiences with the epidurals. I have had all of mine at the hospital under xray. My pain management doctor is very anti-surgery and is trying everything else before he has to do any surgery on me I have had an MRI and just had a myelogram not that long ago to see what is going on with the nerves. It was after that, that they decided that part of my problem was stress related too because I had been in pain for so long. I have started meditating and that seems to help because it is releasing some of my stress. I have also done the aquatic exercises and that does help some but as I said, most of my problems stem from the knees and the spinal stenosis. I do have some bone spurs and a bulging disc but I am determined to get myself walking without a walker again. Also I don't know if it is the area I live in, Southwest Missouri, or what it is but I have not had anyone be rude to me, as a matter of fact I have people go out of their way to be kind. I will be in the store looking at something on the top shelf and people will stop and ask if they can help me get something. They move their carts over and smile at me and say hello, but I always try to smile at them when I am riding around on my little cart. It took me a long time to let my pride down in order to ride one of those. My biggest problem is putting off getting out of the house until we absolutely need something because it is such a pain, and I mean that literally, to get out and go anywhere. I even have to think about how bad I really need to go to the bathroom before I actually get up and go. Sometimes this can be a problem if you know what I mean lol. It is all a big adjustment and it can be so frustrating and it can really get you down. Just take baby steps that is what I keep telling myself, take baby steps and do what you can now and don't worry about the next 5 minutes until it gets there.
