Guest guest
no, no -- NOT off topic! not in my book! anyway, woo-hoo! congratulations to you and justin's mommy. justin -- welcome to planet earth! you may have PSC, but as the asthmatic athlete in the tv commercial says, it doesn't *have* you. the thing about successfully dealing with any chronic illness is to treasure life wherever its found, never ever ever give up, maximize/appreciate every opportunity along the way, and not let life pass you by. see, dave... i TOLD you your little bundle of joy was not off topic! :-) how COOL you've got a brand new healthy baby boy. you've got to be on cloud nine! of COURSE you made the right choice! gentle hugs to your wife, and kiss your son's 10 perfect little fingers and toes for me. maureen (wife of transplanted jim/mother by caesarean to 3 wonderful kids, one of them jim's donor) New baby - OT I'm happy to report that Aley was born at 12:38 this morning (July 23), weighing 8 lb. 5 oz. and measuring 21 " long. Both mom and baby are doing very well. My wife ended up having a caesarean because she wasn't progressing through labor very rapidly and the baby's heart rate was dropping during contractions. Everything went smoothly, though, and within an hour of the delivery I was able to take him into the recovery room so that she could hold him. Thanks to everyone who offered encouragement and prayers during the pregnancy. I was hesitant to have a baby when the (at the time) possible diagnosis of PSC was hanging over me, but I'm firmly convinced now that we made the right choice. -- Dave Aley Mechanical Engineer Special Projects Corp. 4815 Hawkins NE, Suite C-3 Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109
