Guest guest
I am a PT that works in an outpatient rehab facility, however our facility contracts with a long term care facility (not skilled) to provide their therapy services. We very rarely get orders for wound care at the contract facility, however one has recently come up and I was unsure at what point Medicare would pay for wound care services. The wound is a stage two and needs some minimal debridement and dressing changes, no whirlpool. Obviously nursing can do the dressing changes, but will Medicare pay for the debridement by PT in a long term care setting, or do they expect nursing to provide that type of service (are nurses even allowed to perform debridement?). Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Ali Hill, PT The Rehabilitation Center ville, IN ali@... (812)479-1411 x
