Guest guest
I'm going to call the representative who delivered my BiPAP and start screaming in a minute of two. It's leaking all over the place, the alarms don't work, and my husband said that when he woke up in the middle of the night, I wasn't breathing, and it took quite a while for me to start breathing again. This is NOT the way this is supposed to work. I can't believe the trouble I've had with this machine since the day it arrived. I'm angry now. I'm following all of the (minimal) directions I was given, and I'm not getting the benefit of its use. At this point, it's an annoyance rather than a potentially life-saving medical device. Why can't anything ever go right? a
Guest guest
a, I'm going to go home tonight and ask my husband about his mask, the type, model # ect. I just read your post about how it irritated you nose and face. When my mom was in the hospital she has a CPAP machine on her (COPD)and the mask did the same thing, she had a huge sore on her nose and inside her nose from the pressure of the air going in. My hubby never had any of the problems you had. I'll find out some info and try to email you privately tonight or in the morning. I'm sorry you are having so many problems. I know that if/when you get used to it or the right one, it will really help your quality of life. Guest guest
Moderator's note: a, the young man who brings the machine isn't necessarily a respiratory therapist. He might just be a delivery man. Please call the physician who prescribed the machine for you asap, and explain what's going on. Kaylene in nurse mode I called the place I got the machine and told them that someone has to come out here and sit with me while we figure out what's wrong. The kid (he's a 20-something) asked me if I thought I needed a new machine. Okay, but excuse me, isn't HE the professional? I said that I had no way of knowing, but that he should. I also said that I want him to spend the time with me this visit to make sure that everything is in working order. Not just to see if the mask fits and tell me to have a nice life. I'm tired of wasting time, and I'm especially tired of a medical device that could literally save my life not working properly. I'm using it faithfully, and cleaning all the parts and basically doing my part. But what's the point if the machine and/or mask are defective or otherwise not working the way they should? I'm incredibly frustrated right now, and I have to wait until Monday for the rep to come out here and (fingers crossed) get this resolved. Anyway, thanks so much for any info you can provide. Hugs, a __________________________________________________
