I would like to thank you for posting this topic, too. On another

group, about a month ago, I posted asking if anyone had these strange

sensations in their throat, neck and jaw, and the only thing I got back

was that I probably had GERD.

The pain was so frightening, and the fact that it started in my neck on the left

side. I thought I was having a cardiac problem or a stroke or something. I was

scared to death!

I had never heard of trigeminal neuralgia or glossopharyngeal neuralgia

until the day a posted this. I have since went online and looked

at a ton of info, and it seems consistent with what I experienced:

Excuriciating pain radiating up the side of my face, starting in my

neck. Weird sensations in my throat just at the back near my tonsils.

Almost like a piece of food is stuck in there. Then jaw pain all the

way up the side of my face finalizing in a migraine-like feeling

headache.

This would happen in 20-minute intervals throughout a two day period. It was

incredibly frightening! I am going to be seeing a neurologist soon anyway, so

I'm going to discuss this.

I can't thank you enough. I KNEW it wasn't GERD! lol!

Boy, it sounds like GN is as bad as TN. I certainly hope that you have neither

of them and that it's that awful sinus infection that's causing you so much

pain.

I remember suffering from ongoing sinus infections myself about 15 years ago.

Unlike you, I didn't have any weird bug; mine just kept coming back.

Eventually, my ENT at the time took a laser to my nostrils and burned out

something or other, wish I could remember what. All I know is that it worked, as

I've only had maybe a half dozen sinus infections (spread out over time) since

then.
