Guest guest
Hi Amy, Welcome here. I don't have endometriosis, but I do have primary dysmenorrhea, so I know how your pain feels. Thankfully for me, it's only for a few hours every month, but it can be so unbearable that it makes me pass out. I hope you get the help you need here, this is a great group. Guest guest
Amy, I have endo too and it sucks! Period (ha-ha)! Why do they call it a " period " ? They should have named it torture, especially with endo. OUCH! I got diagnosed with really low Vit. D levels about 6 weeks ago. Since taking 50,000 IU a week, I've found that my endo pain and cramping, especially the week before my period has practically gone away. I don't have a very severe form, so it might just be that is the case. I used to have really bad PMS symptoms as well and those have gone down considerably. Just something to think about. It helped with my leg cramps, so I'm thinking it helps cramping in general, Its only been a couple of months and could be coincidence, but I doubt it. Take care and welcome to the group, Caitlin __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I wish my pain was only with my period. Then it would be simple, I could take continuous birth control -- no period, no pain. In my case, the pain doesn't change whether I'm on my period or not. I have what I call my base level of pain -- the pain that is always there no matter what I do or don't do. It can get worse from there with extra activity or any kind of vibration (like from driving or even acoustic vibration). To get back to my base level I have to stop what I'm doing, rest for a long while, and/or take Ultram. It was probably a guy who decided to call it a " period " ;-) Amy Caitlin wrote: I have endo too and it sucks! Period (ha-ha)! Why do they call it a " period " ?
