Awesome. Good for you. I hope it helps take back more of your life.

Be strong

Codependency

I am a codependent. ..I know it and I have been told by several

therapists this is a struggle for me. My current therapist has been

suggesting I go to a week program for codependency at the Caron

Foundation. Money is NOT flowing easily in my life, and this is not

covered by my insurance, but I am doing it. I am calling them

tomorrow, I want to do it this summer, when I am off school. It has

just become too much having a bp mother and husband in my life.

So,I feel like you are all extended family in my life and I have

shared so much...so I wanted to share this. I am so tired of the

codependency issue and the pain it has brought into my life. I am

ready to release more demons in my life.

If anyone can share anything they know about the Caron

Foundation.. .I would so appreciate that.

So funny did you ever notice we go for professional help and yet

rarely does the BP in our lives?....I think that speaks volumes..

I am finally becoming a priority in my life and it feels good.

There is also CoDA ( co-dependents Anonymous ) here is the website:

http://www.coda.org/

And Al-Alanon: http://www.alanonfamilygroups.org/meetings/meeting.html

They are both 12 Steps programs, free and self supportive. I found

great recovery ( I'm a perpetual member ) in these rooms.

If we can't change them, we discover we have control over our own

lives by changing us and putting " them " in the hands of a Higher

Power. We are not their HP.

My Nada is still the same... doesn't want treatment, ex-h, is just

that, ex boyfriend didn't want couples counseling and now my youngest

son is in re-hab. I cannot give another ounce of blood to these

people. I had to become selfish and detach myself from

their " insanity " .

Good wishes to your well being.

---Subee,

Thank you so much for your support and kind words. I feel like

that validation I have gotten here as been amazing. I feel blessed by

all of you. Tools are what I seek to have as my resources to

implement in my life. I must say my husband and daughter have been

extremely supportive about this, which has been so nice.

Thank you again and I am so glad the FOG has lifted in your life.

My cats would also be upset to lose their couch buddy, but you knew

it was time. :)

MJ,

Thank you for sharing your story. Oh my our journeys sound so

similiar. I do need to deattach from the insanity....and like the 12

step program...it is a step at a time. I have attended Al-anon

meetings-I always found good people there. I do believe in a higher

too.

Your insights were great. Thanks for your support!

Keep away from your insanity too....:) I like- you can't give

another ounce of blood to these people in my lives.

---JJfan,

I do need to work on my boundaries, this is hard for me. I have

spent my life trying to make my parents, grandparents, daughter and

husband happy. I am exhausted....just can't do it anymore.

I did read the books you recommended..they are excellent. I

have such a collection of self-help books. They have opened my eyes

and heart. It sounds like your journey wasn't easy...but you are

strong and you are learning to take care of you- and that is

wonderful. The problem was not you and at least you saw that and

valued yourself enough to make boundaries and take care of you.

Lessons I am still learning.
