I called my PCP this morning and was told to come in, since I wasn't

getting any better, been sick a week. When I got there I couldn't

even take a deep breath, so she ordered a chest x-ray to make sure I

didn't have pneumonia, and I don't. She was still worried that what I

have could turn into pneumonia though, so I was give an injection of

Rocephin and a shot of Solmedrol, and I was put on the strongest

antibiotic she could give me due my having a drug allergy. She also

prescribed an inhaler to help me if I get short of breath. My cough

has finally subsided somewhat. She told me that if I am not better by

tomorrow morning to call her back because she wants to keep an eye on

this and make sure I am improving. She also wants to keep an eye on my

blood pressure since it has been high the past two times it was

checked.(Was given info on being " Prehypertensive " at my last visit)

My PCP also noticed some of the things that I had seen the other

doctors for in the past. I lost my balance and fell off the scale

when the nurse tried to weigh me. I almost passed out after the chest

x-ray, I put my hand against the wall to try and regain my balance and

the nurse grabbed me, and yelled for a wheelchair. The nurse said I

turned very white and she though I was going to hit the floor, but she

grabbed me so quick that prevented me from falling. The rash on my

checks has now gone from being a pink discoloration to a raised pink

patch, she looked at the rash and said when I got over the cold she

wanted to do a complete work up or screening for Lupus, since I have a

rash on my face, sun sensitivity, joint pain, etc. She also mentioned

checking Multiple Sclerosis due to my balance and coordination

problems etc. I told her that I had been checked for both a few years

ago and that all tests came back negative, when I told her how the

other doctor had responded to me, she looked somewhat confused by how

my old doctor reacted to me. I told her about the blood work that

had been done in the past and what I had been told as far as not

having Lupus since I the rheumatoid factor test came back negative. I

also told her about the MRI I had back then and that I was told that

it was negative for Multiple Sclerosis since there were no lesions

showing up. I also told her that the old doctor told me I could not

have both, and that basically my symptoms were in my head. She

wasn't very happy about the way I had been treated in the past. Even

though she wants to do a lot of blood work, other tests, and possibly

some referrals to specialists, she basically said that there wasn't a

specific test to indicate Lupus or Multiple Sclerosis, that sometimes

you have to look at the combination of symptoms to come to a

diagnosis. She also said that she wanted to know all of my symptoms

no matter how irrelevant or minor I thought they were. I told her

that I was now keeping a journal of all my symptoms, feelings, etc.,

and she said that was a very good idea, and to make sure I always

brought it to my visits. She also said she wanted a copy of any test

results etc. that I had performed at any specialists, so she would

know what was going on and what I was being told.

So I think I have found a really good PCP she is excellent and will

sit and listen to you about your symptoms no matter how long it takes,

the male doctor is the same, he was the one I talked to when I called

in this morning and he told me I needed to get to the office. He is

the one who had a fit when he found out I had been having chest pains

for so long without going to the doctor.(Heart tests were all negative

for blockages) The nurses are excellent, they are also very

compassionate.
