Guest guest
Your leters about vascular oddballs got me thinking. My brother doesn't have any joint problems but was born with multiple hemangiomas as well as severe eye problems. Since my brother (11 years older then me) and myself are the only babies out ouf 6 that survived delivery and preganacy I wonder if any of the others could have had EDS and if my brother's problems could be related. Hmmmmm.......... Haqve a good weekend everyone! Sue K
Guest guest
Hi Sue -- I'm a little late reading my email but was interested in what you said about your brother and yourself. What kind of eye problems does your brother have? Are his eyes fragile? Also, what are hemangiomas? And finally, what was the cause of death of your siblings who died? I ask because I have something like EDS but not quite; I have a rare eye condition in which my eyes are fragile. Also my dad's siblings had some medical problems. (I'm the only one in my immediate family that has a serious medical condition, but apparently my grandmother had a number of babies that died shortly after they were born.) Just curious. Have a good weekend. --le Vascular oddball..wondering? > Your leters about vascular oddballs got me thinking. Guest guest
Hi , I will try to help you if I can, but I'm not sure if you understood, or I am confused, but will try. My brother has a lot of dislocation of shoulder, and ribs. We all have a bluish color to the sclera of the eye, but no real problems with vision out of the ordinary. A hemangioma is a collection of abnormal blood vessels, which is tumor like. Blood flow through this area is not normal and can lead to problems. My sister has one in the brain. Fortunately, none of us have died, but we sure have an array of arterial problems, i.e., dissections, aneurysms, and ruptures. My grandmother did die of a ruptured abd. aneurysm. What type of eye problems do you have, is it Behcets? Or something else? Just curious. Hope this helps, Love, Sue Ginley
