Guest guest
Hi All, Just need a little venting - feeling a bit overwhelmed/depressed and know this will probably help as you can all understand what I'm going through. Still having problems with the ankle that let go on me back on 1/2. This is depressing in itself since I spent 3 weeks in an air splint then 6 weeks in a cast, no weight bearing, and on crutches and then another 2 weeks in a walking cast. The ankle doc I've been going to has proven to be a real idiot, which is frustrating. He's one of those that thinks he can remember everyone's case without looking back over the file. Some docs can do that - this one can't and it's really pissing me off! The pain has been in exactly the same place since I first saw him and every time I go in to tell him it still hurts here he says but it hurt over there before! This last time I got a bit pissy with him and said, it NEVER hurt there it's ALWAYS hurt here. When he had an MRI done after I was in the air splint for 3 weeks it showed two holes in the one talus bone (the bone between the ankle bone and the heel bone). One hole was 2mm wide and very deep and was right at the spot where I have the pain. The other was more like a small chip taken out. He thinks the small chip happened when my ankle went out in January and the large hole's cause is unknown (first it was probably due to hypermobility of my ankle and it wore through over time then it changed to maybe a cyst caused it and hypermobility could not have done it, sigh). Anyway - I go back to him Friday after having the walking cast off for 3 weeks and the pain is just as bad as before I went through all this. He states that it's probably a tendon and he thinks physical therapy is needed. What doc that has half a brain cell would want to go straight to physical therapy without making sure there isn't still a problem with the bone!! Plus as I've pointed out to him numerous times, the leg was immobilized for 6 weeks and any tendon problem should have healed up. I should have at least had a marked improvement right after I got out of the cast and then after using it a while maybe a tendon that was pissed off would flare back up again. At least he accepted my request to get another MRI done. I have to go back to this guy at least once more, to get the results, but that will be it for him. Which means I'll have to start all over again with another one - sigh. Then to top this all off I got bitten by a tick last Thursday. My body does not like tick bites and they cause an itchy pimple. This time though it's caused a nasty itchy rash about 2 1/2 " by 1 1/2 " . Yesterday I had a scratchy throat, a slight fever and was fatigued - all not good signs. I looked up the tick that bit me and turns out it's called a Lone Star tick and it too carries Lymes Disease - CRUD! Of course I don't have a primary care doc right now either. Guess this is the excuse I needed to get me to the new one I wanted to check out. One more note - my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half now and finally went to the OB about it. I've felt my husband's been blaming me for it not happening. He says stuff like - when are you going to give me a baby. Well we had a sperm analysis done and his sperm are the problem - not enough are moving the way they are supposed to. Hate to say this but - YEAH IT'S NOT SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME FOR ONCE!! Know if anyone will understand that feeling you guys will. Thanks for giving me a shoulder to lean on! :-)) Hugs to all, HEDS, New Jersey, USA
