Well i did get my decorations up yesterday with the help from my

daughter and her boyfriend. I just need to buy a small tree,

perferrably no taller than me!

This year i plan on having a Christmas party! As my friends know i go

all out and this year i told them all to expect to be here early to

help! Not sure how much we will get done as the blender will be going

all night! I really enjoy cooking for people who appreciate my hard

work.

I think i will have to tell everyone NO kids this year as we will be

drinking and i really don't want kids runnig through my house. As i

get older i have NO patience for little ones anymore (my daughter is

19yrs) In fact i tell her all the time i would not be upset if she

never had kids....hahahaha

,

Congrats on getting the decorations and such up. And good luck with the party.

A blender drink sounds mighty fine right now (the Monday after Thanksgiving.

BLAH!). Ha ha.

Take care,

Caitlin

Better make sure that blender drink is non alcoholic Caitlin. <grin>

Since the drinking of " Christmas Cheer " season is fast approaching, now is a

good time to get on my " reminder soap box. "

Mixing alcohol and any kind of pain medication is a huge No No. The combination

of the two can easily be a killer. The big problem is that sometimes all it

takes is a couple

of drinks and the lights can go out permanently. Most deaths involving any kind

of pain medication, also include alcohol.

When it comes to mixing pain meds and alcohol, a person never knows whether one

drink is safe or if it is one drink too many. Throw in an anti depressant

and/or muscle

relaxers and you may have a real recipe for disaster. To avoid getting

excessively blitzed, or blacking out, or organ damage, or death, the best thing

to do is never take pain

medications (and many other medications) on a day you plan to drink alcohol.

The risk isn't worth it.

I have been trying to figure out what to put up

we have one puppy that will be a year old November 29th and I can't wait for

her to get out of the chewing stage. So I am afraid to put up the tree, but

I want decorations

, When Bubba was small I put out cyanie pepper on our tree and the

presents. All you have to do is sprinkle it around and on the tree. When the

puppy smells it they will back away and never touch

what the pepper is on. We have never had a problem with bubba chewing on the

gifts or tree, and chewed on everything in the house.

Hope this helps out.

Personal opinion here. There is no reason to drink at any time of the year.

With all of the meds we take it is simply not smart to do this to our bodies.

I personally have never to my knowledge had one drop of alcohol, yes even at

weddings! I have tons of fun and laugh all the time. So just don't drink, have

a load of fun, just decline the drink, take your own beverage with you, a can of

pop, tea, water, (its better for you anyway, and they have some great flavored

waters out there now!), and that way you are not tempted, and you will remain

sober and know what you are doing and not run the risk of hurting yourself in

anyway.

I have raised three kids now adults who have never drank, they always took

their own drink. One did mess up, now does not, and wishes he never did, so

know he always takes his drink with him. Works every time, gets you out of

having to explain and keeps you on schedule with your meds no worry about

interacting meds and alcohol and the next day you have no concerns. Be safe,

Happy and out of the Emergency room! Gwen

Last year we just put a cute small fence around the tree. Our dogs are small

(mini-daschunds) but they stayed away from the tree.

, I can really relate to a tree and chewing even though my Pugs are

no longer puppies. The boys think that the tree is an indoor place for them

to lift their leg on too!

We put the dogs in their crates while we are putting up the tree and

decorations. Then when we are all done we put an ex-pen around the tree

problem solved. We don't have to worry about them getting any of the

presents either. We also put the heavy green garbage bags all around on the

inside of the ex-pen just in case one of the boys decides to lift his leg

and I put tinsel and stuff all on the top of the ex-pen as well.

I have a yellow lab and a husky mix, so not small dogs, more like medium and

my yellow lab am still trying to figure out how to cut down his food or put

him on a diet unless it is something physical that we have yet to find out.
