Guest guest
I met her when I accompanied a friend and her son to their appointment years ago. She took medicaid, which was the only way my friend would ever be able to afford a DAN doc. I don't know if she still accepts it now though. My friends son was severely autistic, more so than most of our kids, and despite diet and chelation still is. Dr. Megson seemed to think he was like that Tito kid that writes all those eloquent responses while his mother holds his hand. Sadly, I do not agree. I think her son is severely autistic and in need of intensive therapy such as verbal behavior, RDI, ABA, etc. something to teach him to interact. His teacher was doing facilitated communication with him, but she was the only one that could ever get him to do it, and that is highly suspicious. This child is definitely healthier for seeing Dr. Megson, and god bless her for taking Medicaid, but unfortunately if anything he has regressed cognitively while his mother waits for the chelation miracle that will produce speech. We all do what we can to help our kids. We make different choices, some are good, some are mistakes. Each kid has his or her own path. Sometimes we follow it like it is a religion. Too bad were not learning tolerance from our lot in life. I'm determined to learn something from this!
