Guest guest
This has been quite a week. It began with a phone call at about 3:45 Sunday afternoon from Greg's transplant coordinator, Staci. She said we needed to head to Columbus, that a lung was available. We arrived at OSU Medical Center around 5:30 pm. We, along with the transplant team, had a long night ahead of us. He had the first incision at 5:15 am on Monday, and 4 1/2 hours later, the lung was in. Greg has superb physicians. I know he is receiving the best treatment possible. He is on a ventilator along with many other tubes, but he's responsive and very alert. They are gradually weaning him off the vent. He was receiving 40%, and they just lowered again. They are working their way to removing the vent, hopefully by sometime tomorrow am. He will probably remain in SICU for another 1-3 days. We are looking, at the least, a month long stay here in Columbus. Please keep us in your prayers! Deb
