" Hi Steve K - I went online and found the American Tinnitus Association at www.ata.org (tinnitus means " ringing in the ears. " ) They've got TONS of great information on their website! I learned a lot about this condition from reading there. For example, I just learned that tinnitus is a potential symptom of Fibromyalgia - I had no idea that was the case. Also, it can come and go - like you experience - or be constant. And there are LOTS of potential causes. Here's a link to the association's " Patient FAQ " page, which includes a long list of potential causes. You can also use this page to link through to other resources and information they have available. Maybe this will help you solve the mystery. Sometimes we have to do the work because the doctors won't. http://tinyurl.com/3bhqcu Cheryl in AZ Moderator
Guest guest
My ears have been ringing for months. It started the first time I went on Nystatin and it hasn't stopped yet... At least 5 months. Someone told me it was yeast that traveled up trying to escape.. I don't know abuot that....... But someone recently told me I needed Co Q10 to fix it. I'm going to try. > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears. Guest guest
Thank you. I never would have made the connection. I googled yeast ringing in ears and came up with this http://www.candidafree.net/ Nanci > > > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears. Guest guest
Check for magnesium deficiency too. As for yeast, yes, I think all the " outlets " of the body (skin, ears, nose, eyes, anus) get lots of action when the mucus pathways (lymphatic drainage) is trying to detox/eliminate something. Maybe tinnitis is the equivalent of having your nose running, however, the wax obviously doesn't run - instead you hear the sound of something trying to " get out " . > > > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears. Guest guest
Interesting! My son showed low levels of calcium and magnesium in his hair test, although we had been supplementing already at the time of the test. Guest guest
You could try adding taurine to magnesium for better absorption. > > > > > > > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears. Guest guest
I just read that they are using Vinpocetine for tinnitus. I did not get the dosage but they always say to start slow with this one, 2-5 mgs and I think the upper dosage was 40 mgs for an adult. Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: elizabethsoliday I look forward to hearing more about that drug, sounds promising from what I have read so far. ===>Is an OTC supplement here, a drug in some European countries where it has been used with good benefit in stroke patients. They also claim the supplement is good for attention and fine motor control, found a place where they were marketing it to....golfers. But my dh has tinnitus and I am going to have him try it. > > > > >> > > > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears. Guest guest
I can add that I just started some Diflucan and had some high-pitched ringing in my ears recently. It does feel like mucus is trying to clear itself. Post-nasal drip, coughing it out and yes, my ears feel funny - spongey sound and kinda blocked. Last time I was on Diflucan, my sinuses cleared over my eyes. I also started the GFCF diet recently so my milk intake is less and not getting a ton of protein. I have been trying to supp with Ca and Mg tho probably not enough. Steph T. > > > > > > > > Off and on, my son will complain of ringing in his ears.
