Hi Kate: This Medrol is I think 6 days. I could get up and go look but I'm too lazy. :) I had a long weekend and I'm very thankful for the Medrol. On Saturday I helped prepare all the food for the Sunday party, Sunday was First Communion and then the party at the park. We were at the park from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A long day and I did get some sun. I didn't realize it at the time but when I got home I was surprised to see I had a sunburn on my face. I've read some of Trudeau's stuff and I just don't believe a lot of it. My brothers had never used sunscreen until after they got skin cancer. Sun does give you skin cancer but the products used to block it

have also been found to have carcinogenic properties. I remember reading a study on that a few years ago and I'll try to find it. I did find this info (there is a lot of good info there) from the University of Michigan Health System: http://www.cancer.med.umich.edu/learn/skincancer06.pdf "The most common and easily preventable cause of skin cancer is exposure toultraviolet (UV) light from sunlight or tanning beds. Genetic (hereditary) factors playa part in the tendency to develop skin cancer. Some diseases and some chemicals, such as petroleum products, increase your risk of developing skin cancer. Othertypes of cancer, such as breast or lung cancer, can spread to the skin. These are notskin cancers, however."I thought I had read that PABA was shown to actually cause skin cancer but now I can't find anything on it. Maybe I dreamed it.

:) Oh well... maybe someone else can find something on it. The genetic part is the reason I need to go to the dermatologist. Both of my brothers have had malignant melanoma as well as basal cell carcinoma, my mother had skin cancer, my nephew did and my cousin did. None of them used any kind of sunscreen except my nephew. I don't mean to be disagreeable here and I'm sorry if it comes off like that. Hugs))Sharon Re: medrol pack OK, thanks for the explanation, Sharon~I had never known that. I've been on the IV Solumedrol twice--once last July for 3 days--in hosp., the other time, for a 5 day course, at home. They had a nurse put in the line, oops, I wrote that already...I am SO happy you are feeling better. How long is the Medrol dose for? 10 days or so? I am not feeling too well, but I know I overdid it this weekend--too many activities, too much time spent in the sun. At least I slept most of last night--and didn't need meds to help me! Everyone should really try and get their sunshine dose of Vit. D... The book I'm reading, by Trudeau-Natural Cures they don't want you to know about...its really eye opening--in it, he states

something startling--and VERY difficult to believe, that sun blocks and all the products ~give you cancer--not the sun! There's alot in the book he says, I believe, but this one really got me! I'm not putting it entirely in its context, but in a nutshell, that's what he claims... Enjoy the sun today! blessings to all, kate> A Medrol Dose Pak is oral medication. When I talked to my > neuros office I told them I couldn't do the Solumedrol (because > they want me in the hospital). Today was my 2 granddaughter' s > First Communion and the we had a party afterward. I couldn't go > into the hospital and miss all of that! So the neuro said okay > but if I wasn't better by Monday they would do something > different. I have been on the oral meds several times but have > always avoided the Solumedrol. > > I am feeling much

better. > > love, Sharon> > Please visit: http://www.bicyclem an.com awesome guy, fantastic site.
