Guest guest
Hi Michele, I just got the canon think tank printer and I love it, I have saved so much money on ink becasue you only change the colour you run out of, they are seperate cartriges. But if you want to store photos I would definatly get a new computer that has the space to store large picture files, or possibly upgrade your existing computer. Debbie Cachia. Guest guest
Michele, My daughter just bought a Gateway computer, scanner and HP Photo Smart printer, CD burner and digital camera for around 2500. That's half of what I paid for mine 1 year ago. It's a really good time to buy now and if you computer is 4 years old, you will be amazed at the difference. As for printing the business cards, I have a HP Photo Smart P1000 and I love it. It prints professional looking photographs (if you use good paper) and as far as business cards, I don't think you could want much better. Hope I've been helpful. I don't know alot about printers, but I'd bet for the same $$$ a new computer would be a better deal than an upgrade (and having a computer for the kids, is always great -- I find I can work on my computer while is playing games on his). > On the CHARGE side of things -- we had an outstanding experience at > horseback riding therapy last night. Guest guest
I have a compaq computer that was purchased the 1st of the year. But I also purchased a Hewlett Packard 3 in one--printer, scanner and copier. It makes professional photos look like new. Also, it has separate cardridges for color and blackand white that you can change out without difficulty. I really enjoy it!! Iris
Guest guest
I would guess getting a inkjet. Just remember to consider the cost of the paper, printer, printer ink while calculating. Sometimes is cheaper to print it yourself, other times its cheaper to get it done elsewhere. I am sorry Iam no help. Chantelle
Guest guest
Michele, I just got a HP Deskjet 932C and I really really like it, the print quality is excellent. We got a good deal at Future Shop on sale. RE: the upgrade...if you're going to be doing a lot of work with graphics, etc (that's my thing, too) you're going to need a lot of RAM (memory), esp if you are manipulating large picture files and editing them, etc. I did an upgrade not long ago and I'm happy with it (getting more memory this week though as it is way down in price these past couple weeks). But, if you are interested in keeping the computer solely for business, it may be a better idea for you to donate your current puter to the kids and get a new one for yourself. If you have any other specific questions, let me know. YAY for Aubrie on the horseback riding!!! Way to go... Can't wait to see how she does with her hearing aides, do let us know... Hey gang, Here's a non-CHARGE question. You guys are the most computer literate bunch I know. I have started a new business and have been printing my own business cards and brochures on my old HP693C. It does a good job but takes forever. I priced having them done at the print shop and it would be over $400 for the smallest quantity of both. It seems logical that it would be better to spend that money on a new printer and continue to do it myself. I like having the freedom to change and update as desired. I'm looking for advice on what kind of printer to get. Do any of you have experience to share in this area? I am also using a 4 year old computer that needs upgrading. Does it make more sense to add to it or just get whole new one and keep this one separate for the kids? Prices have gone down so much that a new one seems like the better value. Again, any suggestions on what to look for in a new system? I will need to be able to scan and store photos as well as graphics, and maintain a web site. On the CHARGE side of things -- we had an outstanding experience at horseback riding therapy last night. After 2 years of hesitation on Aubrie's part, she was so excited to go and delighted to ride the horse! She was the star of the evening. Today, we go for our new hearing aids. I'm sure that will bring lots more questions for you guys :-) Thanks! Michele W Aubrie's mom
