Guest guest
Well, I had symptoms for 4 years and negative MRI and other tests for MS. I had to have a doozy of an attack for a lesion to show up. My neuro told me, "There's something there that doesn't want to show its ugly face yet." He was so right. Everyone is different. Keep on the docs whenever a new symptom comes up or an old symptom gets worse. We're here to help with any question(S) you may have. Welcome to the group. Shirley -- New to the group Hello all, I am new to the group, I have not been diagnosed with MS,but I have several symptoms that would point to MS.First I'll start by telling a little about myself, I am a 42 year oldfemale, I am married and have a teenage daughter. I like spend myspare time reading. I also work part time. Now my symptoms my eyes have jerky type movement, sometimes I have eyepain and sometimes my vision get blurry, even though the blurrinessdoesn't last long. I have developed a little bit of a bladder andbowel control problem at times, but I have not had any accidents thepast week or so. My coordination has gotten terrible, my walking isnot steady, I can't seem to walk straight, I wobble, my feet seem todrag, and even my posture has changed somewhat. I get moderate tosevere muscle weakness, my arms and legs have got to where they reallybother me. If I have to walk or stand for over a few minutes I usuallyhave to sit down and take a break. I drop things, I miss things that Ireach for, I'm not very steady in my movements anymore, for examplethe other morning I was pouring a cup of coffee and I missed my cupand poured it all over my hand. My brain function seems to haveslowed, when talking sometimes I pause like I have totally forgottenwhat I was going to say, my writing has gotten terrible due to myhands shaking when I try to write, I also miss my mouth sometimes wheneating due to my coordination, if I am trying to do something I reallyhave to try and think about what I'm doing. I also have episodes of mymuscles jerking this will last a minute or so. I get dizzy and lightheaded every day. I have had a few "electrical shock" sensations, Ialso get numbness and tingling, in my hands and feet, I am veryforgetful I get choked easily. I am also very prone to headaches. I had an episode like this about 5 years ago, during that time I wassent to a neurologist and also had an MRI, at the time MS wassuggested but when the results for the MRI came back I was told that Idid not have it. I have had other episodes of these same symptoms offand on since then but they never last that long maybe a couple ofweeks. My current symptoms though just seem to be getting worse day byday, and I have been having these symptoms for about three months now.My PCP is sending me to the neurologist again, my appointment is nextweek. From what I've read the symptoms that I am having sound a little likeMS, but like I said I was checked for MS five years ago and was toldthe test was negative. Have any of you had symptoms like these? How long did it take you to get diagnosed? Will MS always show up on an MRI? I am sorry that I rambled so much, but I am confused by all of mysymptoms and I feel that there is something wrong with me but I haveno idea what.Thank you for reading this,Kelshadanache
Guest guest
Hi Kelshadenache, Welcome aboard! ) I'm Challis... I've no dx yet, but think there's one out there waiting for me. lol For the past 6 or 7 years now, I've had symptoms I took notice of, though it was only a bit over a year ago that I finally sought a Neuro for it. My Mother has MS and she brought me to this list about the time I started going for a dx. (She's Sharon/Wobbletowalk). This list is wonderful! ) My MRI was clear, too. Though I know many MSers have years of clear MRIs before their first lesion/s show. I hope you're able to find your answers soon!
