Guest guest
Well it is now 2002 here in Down Under, and we just want to wish all of our precious families a very happy new year. They say you should always look back on the year gone and see what it bought forth, but I guess we always look back with different coloured glasses than the " world " . Who but you would understand the joy of the first word spoken (even if that is the only word for the year) Then there was the time that Jaecob signed " what eat tree " when looking at my dinner plate. I thought that was really clever telling me he wanted to have a piece of my broccoli (even if he doesn't " eat " ) And of course one mustn't forget the racing car which Bruce bought about two years ago and it has sat outside the back door. We wondered whether he would ever learn to pedal it!! Well the day came, but he was so excited at seeing his legs go round and round that steering was an impossibility. He did however manage to " drive " it down the road (we live in a cul-de-sac hence it is very quiet and Bruce was there) " park " it behind a car and get off it just to check out the wheels on the real car in case they should be different (we have a real thing about cars and their wheels) get back onto his and continue " driving " . Well now we can steer AND pedal!!!! Of course there has also been the scary moments, the hard times, the hospital stays and all that entails, the times when you wonder what the future holds and whether you will be able to do all you can to help this precious little life reach his full potential but I have to say through it all it's been a wonderful year. Thank you all for all the encouragement, help and joy you have bought us. We have laughed with you, cried with you, shouted " yes " when we have heard of the developments your children have made. (one day Jack and Jaecob are going to meet!!! and walk and talk together) We love you all and are so glad we are part of the family. May this coming year bring you much joy and happiness and remember, we DO have an Australasian Conference in Australia this year. Come on down, we'd love to see you, and of course if you are going to Australia then you had BETTER come to New Zealand!!!! Robyn (on behalf on Bruce who is at work flying and Jaecob (4) CHARGE+ who is still busy sleeping!!!! Now we just have to work on getting those sleeping patterns sorted out!!!
