Guest guest
A Medrol Dose Pak is oral medication. When I talked to my neuros office I told them I couldn't do the Solumedrol (because they want me in the hospital). Today was my 2 granddaughter's First Communion and the we had a party afterward. I couldn't go into the hospital and miss all of that! So the neuro said okay but if I wasn't better by Monday they would do something different. I have been on the oral meds several times but have always avoided the Solumedrol. I am feeling much better. love, Sharon medrol pack Sharon...like a 'duh', medrol pack as in Solumedrol? I am sorry, I didn't realize you were in such a flare. I don't want to come across as uncaring...I just had no idea. So, you will do a 3 or 5 day home infusion? Who will put the line in for you? I know a nurse from Apria, came in put in a PIC line, cause they couldn't get one in my hand. She ran it the first time, b ut the next 4 days I had to do it myself...I REALLY hope you are feeling better real soon. love you, kate Please visit: http://www.bicyclem an.com awesome guy, fantastic site. Guest guest
OK, thanks for the explanation, Sharon~I had never known that. I've been on the IV Solumedrol twice--once last July for 3 days--in hosp., the other time, for a 5 day course, at home. They had a nurse put in the line, oops, I wrote that already...I am SO happy you are feeling better. How long is the Medrol dose for? 10 days or so? I am not feeling too well, but I know I overdid it this weekend--too many activities, too much time spent in the sun. At least I slept most of last night--and didn't need meds to help me! Everyone should really try and get their sunshine dose of Vit. D... The book I'm reading, by Trudeau-Natural Cures they don't want you to know about...its really eye opening--in it, he states something startling--and VERY difficult to believe, that sun blocks and all the products ~give you cancer--not the sun! There's alot in the book he says, I believe, but this one really got me! I'm not putting it entirely in its context, but in a nutshell, that's what he claims... Enjoy the sun today! blessings to all, kate> A Medrol Dose Pak is oral medication. Guest guest
Sharon, I am so glad you are feeling better. I hope it was a great ceremony and party. Four or five years I became allergic to strawberries. Probably showed up because I ate a bowlful instead of one or two. Anyway the Dr put me on oral steroids. When I went back to him I teased him by saying I think I will eat another bowl of strawberries just to get some mor steroids because I had not felt so good for years. lol He just laughed at me. Did you go to the same park for the party. It is so pretty there. That trip to AZ are some of the best memories of my life. I think of it often. I want to thank you, because if I had not wanted to meet my dear friend so much I would never have had those beautiful memories. Patience helped get me there also by encouraging me and coming along. Love to you and all of your family. Lynn Re: medrol packTo: MSersLife > A Medrol Dose Pak is oral medication. Guest guest
Dear Lynn:I am feeling better. The steroids really make me feel good and it works fast for me. The ceremony was so lovely and the girls were beautiful. I'll send you some pictures. We did go to the same park and I thought of you when the sun was going down. Remember when the mountain turned that beautiful purple for those very few seconds? love..Sharon Re: medrol packTo: MSersLife@yahoogrou ps.com> A Medrol Dose Pak is oral medication. Guest guest
Their communion was so beautiful. The church was packed and there were a lot of girls and boys going through First Communion. All those girls in their beautiful white dresses... most with veils, but some without. We had a wonderful time. hugs))Sharon medrol pack Sharon...like a 'duh', medrol pack as in Solumedrol? Guest guest
Sorry miss read what you had said about what was said in the book. Prednisone was what I was thinking of, MS brain day. LOL. Have they read your scan yet?Hope all is well. katelloydkidz@... wrote: As far as I know , Solumedrol is only infused; prednisone is what is used afterwards as a taper off the med. However, I have heard recently, from reliable sources, that the Solumedrol is not as bad as the prednisone taper is.. Pul.doc was not overly concerned about the nodule;said hosp. has to 'cover their butts'. Ok, I get it. However, that being said, with my mom having lung CA, her dad dying of throat CA, and her younger bro dying at 47 of lung ca., I just didn't feel like 'chancing' anything...SO--he sent me right next door to his office to have a cat scan. I kinda 'bugged' them at the desk afterwards; saying I know I should not be worried, but is there any way someone could look at my scan today, so I'm not like 'freaking out'...She assured me most likely, there is nothing to be concerned with, but was very kind, and said to help the doc assess the catscan better, she'd get a copy of the chest xray report so he could compare them. SHe pretty much assured me that she'd try and have someone give me a heads up today. Phew...At least I was able to see the doc today, and have the catscan done. No, the guy in the book I'm mentioning says the sun is fantastic--Vit.D is needed--esp in folks with MS--he says it is the sun screens and blocks that are BAD for you! blessings, kate R.> Wondering, Is Solumedrol only given by IV?
