Do you have a lot of anxiety? Are you always hyped up or mostalways exhausted?

Yes, I have had anxiety so bad I can't function through the day and I am under so much stress. I and a guardian of two people plus by body is out of wacky and I have just got off my depakote in Sept 05 due to my new doctor saying I was misdiagnosed for the past 14 years. He said I never was bi-polar just stress related anxiety and depression. This weekend alone has been so bad I couldn't even remember my pin # to my debit card. I am so tired and yet so wound up I can't sleep. I been feeling numb off and on in my legs and then a small place in one arm and the weird numb like pressure in my face then it goes away. I have had labs done and a Nero check up and I passed the check up but I had a endocrinology tell me that my ATCH is like 56 when it should only be about 27 at the highest and my free testosterone is I think an 8 and should be like 5.0 and my bio available testosterone is a 17 I think it could be the other way around. my prolactin is a 31 and should be a 30 . Since getting off the paxil and deakote my diabetes has went away. and they say I am a non diabetic now. So they are having trouble holding up to the PCOS they said I had. I went to a new gyno and he said that what I am going through is where the depakote is coming out of my system and that is why my levels are off but it will correct its self in time. He said in about nine months or so I will feel better but he wanted to put me on Yasmin to get my cycles back on track and to help with the labs cause the depakote caused hair problems in all the wrong places. But lately I am just feel so yuck and my moods are just so bad and I am afraid and can't make sense of much. I went to the ER the other night and they said the reason I was have weird numb feelings in my legs and other places was stress related anxiety and they gave me four xanax';s and sent me home and I never took them cause it would just make me panic more cause I would still be stressed but just high you might say and that make me afraid too. I have an okay week last week but this weekend I feel so bad. The gyno said not to worry everything will be fine. But is there something I can do to lessen the stress to bring down the anxiety and feel like I am really here and not spaced out and afraid. I know I am the same person I was before I got off the meds But I just feel yuck.

I appreciate all the help you can give me. Thanks so much,

** The numbness is a symptom often reported by people who have

stopped any of the drugs you mentioned. It is specifically mentioned

in the Depakote drug monograph . The term for this is paresthesia.

Over what period of time did you discontinue the depakote? What

was the original dose?

Did the endo do a 24 hour urinary free cortisol? If not, I

recommend having this done.

This excess hair is called hirsutism and can happen from Depakote

or other drugs of this type. PCOS often follows. If you have been on

Depakote for 14 years (this wasn't clear to me so please correct me if

I'm wrong) your body may not revert as easily as the GYN suggests.

** If you describe the anxiety to me -- and the panic -- in as

much detail as possible I will find an appropriate remedy for this.

Are you taking any supplements? If so, what are you taking and what

are the doses?

Take care, . Try not to worry. We can help you take the edge

off all this.

I used to be on paxil to, my diabetes has gone away since coming off

SSRI to. I was also told I had PCOS, but now I am off the drugs the

endocrinologist has taken that diagonis away as well! My hormones are

normal on my blood tests.......so apparently that means I cant have

PCOS. They can find no cysts. But my periods went cranky within a a

few months of taking paxil.

Just wanted to tell you, you're not alone. These drugs f*** up every

system in our body.

** Take the ACTH challenge, , and ask for a 24 hour urinary

free cortisol. The one you had was not this test. To do this one

you collect your urine at home for 24 hours.

You're considering taking the BC pill after what I told you about

it??

On Friday, I saw the new, temporary primary care physician.

Apparently, there are some notes in my chart from previous temporary

doctors, along with the doctor I started seeing in 2004.

I had an MRI either late in 2004 or early in 2005. The MRI did not

show any lesions. The doctor said she wasn't ready to rule out MS,

but wasn't able to comfirm it. She sent me to a neurologist. He did

an EMG only on my right side my forearm, knee, and ankle. He also did

an EEG using this really antiquated machine. He said there did not

seem to be any neurological issues.

Now this new doctor said that it is a good sign that there were no

lesions. I guess that's true. But, a woman I had spoke with at the

National Multiple Sclerosis Society had told me that even with a

negative MRI, the possibility of MS is still there.

How often do you get an MRI if no lesions are found but the symptoms

persist? Does it make a difference where the lesion or lesions are as

to what part of your body is affected?

Yes, I have heard of this. I see ads here and there telling people how to submit for grants, either by autism support organizations or by the doctor's offices, themselves. I know a very good autism doc who takes Medicaid. Thus, there are ways to see docs even if you are very broke. There are also tons of free information all over the Internet on the treatments they do, and most require no prescription.

Love and prayers,

Heidi N

This was touched upon in the Revita Pops thread recently, but it's a third rail issue that nobody wants to touch.Biomedical treatments for autism,HBOT,DAN! protocols are expensive. Is anyone aware of any DAN! doctors,or similar providers, who see poor and indigent patients ?Not arranging payments, but seeing families who are too poor to pay under any circumstances.I would be very interested in learning the answer to this. Can love help you live longer? Find out now.
