Hi Sherry,

Sorry I am so slow getting back to you.I really apreciate the info about the

plugs. It sounded like it was fairly easy,I still have to think about it.My

left side of my face and head and including my eye are all radiation damaged

very bad and to have someone touch it is horrible,so I will think on that for

awhil. It does sound better to me than having my eye sewed up though...Oh the

decisions we have to make huh...I did get the radiation damaged from GK in 91

at Mayo Clinic.

Thanks,Lana in Mineesota :)

Hi there June

My left eye is open all the time. I have no weights etc etc. I use Lacralube

once or twice a day. I can't see to well from this eye so it doesn't bother

my vision. I have virtually no problems at all, all day. Once every year or

so I get a small infection, but other wise its great.

And if the manufactures of Lacralube are reading this then I can endorse

their product for a small 6 figure annual fee.

Unless you have mentioned it to your medics already, it is always best

to get these things checked out. It could be the old bone of contention

'flank pain' that some of us in this group complain of, myself included.

I would describe the pain as dull on a good day, and pulsating on a bad

day, or when I have fallen sick, or have over exerted myself.

If it is annoying you get it checked for peace of mind.

Best wishes

pain

Shoul I be overly worried about constant pain in my left kidney. The

pain (dull ache really) is there all the time but is more annoying

than anything else.

My seven yr old also complains of pains, never major pains, just my

tummy hurts a little. He always points to the high area of his

stomach, usually more towards his right side. As a parent I always ask

the normal questions, " Do you need to go to the bathroom, are you

hungry, are you to full " , etc. Could this the same type of pain you

describe? Where are the pains you feel located? Are they high, just

under or behind the rib cage area? Or are they only on the side?

Hunter's pains seem to split between his high stomach area, and one or

the other of his sides.

Please advise

My pains are more in the back area right under the rib cage. Nothing really

helps me with my back pain except ibuprofen, but as you may know, taking too

much may cause damage to your kidneys. So, I would not recommend that. I

only take it every once in a while when it is really bad.

My neph. Hasn't been much help with this because he tells me that igan does

not cause back pain, but I have read differently on other sites, and I know

my body.

You know, it's funny, but I've had pain in that exact same area for years

(upper right abdomen, just under and behind the rib cage). They keep telling

me it has nothing to do with IgAN though.

To be realistic, despite what can be read here and there, it's still an open

question as to whether IgAN itself can cause flank or back pain. One theory

is that the muscles around the kidneys may be the source of the pain, or the

kidney may be pushing up and rubbing more against the tissues above it.

As I've said before, what I used to think was recurring flank pain behind my

right kidney turned out to be gallstones.

Hi

The 'flank pain' to which I have referred to below, is on my right side

always, and more toward the lower back than toward the stomach. In fact

it is probably just where the kidney sits in truth, but you can get what

is known in the profession as 'referred pain', so Hunter may well have

flank pain. I never ignore pain, it is there for a reason, telling us

something is not right. In a child it is difficult to actually get them

to explain properly isn't it (recent episode with my nephew age 4

complaining of hurting in his head makes me think this!). If your at

all concerned always best to get the medics to take a look.

Hope Hunter is soon pain free.

Best wishes

Hi , I had the same kind of pain. I was sent to a cardio man and it was confirmed what I had was acid-reflux. Both of these conditiond need to be seen by a dr. The dr need to check out your heart as a lot of lung problems cause heart problems. A HP 6/06 TN tootiebess wrote: Hi my new friends. I have a question for u. Now it is going around to my back and it hurts so bad that I can't lie down to sleep. This pain that I am describing in the front is like someone is wrapping a rubber band around my insides, real tight feeling. can anyone tell me if they have this and what to do for it.God bless u all,
