Guest guest
, Maybe it was a VQ Scan a ventilation perfusion scan also called a lung scan, which is done to compare the function of your lungs to each other. Just a guess. > > just curious about something from anyone who has had this done: > > i had this ame test done last year, like an ultrasound of my heart > and they put it on video. > > this was different, they had someone put an IV in my hand and juice > up some saline solution and shot it in at a rather fast rate......i > asked the tech about it and she said they do that for a particular > part of the test but she wasn't allowed to go into more detail.... > > what kinda bullshit is that???? > > i also got to take my cat scan film home with me but of course they > couldn't tell me anything about that either. > > this waiting crap drives me bonkers! > > EG 10-05 >
Guest guest
It just dawned on me though that sometimes they give you barium when doing the HRCT scans. > > just curious about something from anyone who has had this done: > > i had this ame test done last year, like an ultrasound of my heart > and they put it on video. > > this was different, they had someone put an IV in my hand and juice > up some saline solution and shot it in at a rather fast rate......i > asked the tech about it and she said they do that for a particular > part of the test but she wasn't allowed to go into more detail.... > > what kinda bullshit is that???? > > i also got to take my cat scan film home with me but of course they > couldn't tell me anything about that either. > > this waiting crap drives me bonkers! > > EG 10-05 >
Guest guest
, I did a stress echocardiagram where they put dye into my vein and injected something that made my heart race as if I were on a stress test. It was horrible and you would have known they were doing that. I have also had a nuclear heart imaging test with injection. What you describe sounds like that. I had that in June. It shows more clearly the inner chambers, etc. I do not understand why she couldn't tell you what they were doing! You can still ask for a copy of the report in a couple of days. >> just curious about something from anyone who has had this done:> > i had this ame test done last year, like an ultrasound of my heart > and they put it on video.> > this was different, they had someone put an IV in my hand and juice > up some saline solution and shot it in at a rather fast rate......i > asked the tech about it and she said they do that for a particular > part of the test but she wasn't allowed to go into more detail....> > what kinda bullshit is that????> > i also got to take my cat scan film home with me but of course they > couldn't tell me anything about that either.> > this waiting crap drives me bonkers!> > EG 10-05>
Guest guest
Ok, here is a secret of the medical/nursing/health care profession. When someone tells you that they cant tell you something about a test, medication, therapy or other thing that is merely informative and not the making of a diagnosis it is because they dont know the answer and are too embarrassed to say so, so they say they are not allowed to tell you to cover their ignorance. Now you know the secret, but dont tell anyone I told you or I will be banned from the health care profession as a tattle-tell. LOL....sadly this is often the real reason they dont give you answers. Guest guest
Hi jaime The one test is a Echo cardiogram like a ultrasound and the other is a CT scan with contrast The contrast is is probably radioactive to help show blood flow better. Wait a few days then go to the records department and ask for the results they are yours so they have to give them to you if they have been read.
