Guest guest
In response to Robyn's very apt question, it was the diagnosis of diabetes that made me wake up and smell the coffee. At the same time, it was when I heard about the laproscopic version of the surgery too. I felt I could handle that surgery since I had already had my gall bladder removed laproscopically. But it was the diabetes that convinced me I had to do something drastic. I do think the surgery is drastic but not nearly as drastic as slow death by diabetes is. Like someone else mentioned, I could no longer fit gracefully into restaurant booths or amusement park rides with my children. My daughter was growing up without an active mother and I wanted to do what I could to assure she would grow up with a mother. 45 lbs down since 12/21/04 and fitting better into booths and clothes and all that jazz, Gracie
