Guest guest
Could someone tell me where I could find these answers. We have a PT clinic in Michigan. Some of the Insurance companies we bill are out of state. Does the law change for each insurance company in their home state, or does the law apply to the state from which you are billing. I heard rumors that in Michigan they have up to two years to collect from you. Also on the reverse side, how long are we allowed to collect from insurance companies, again I heard the rumor it was two years from the DOS, as long as there isn't a review already in process. Any direction or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you Lori AMTLLC@... My questions is, how much time do they have to request this refund. Our patient was treated on 7-11-03 and now a letter from the Insurance dated 7-30-04 (over 1 year ago) requests their money back or they will refrain from making a payment on another patient. If anyone knows the rule on this I would appreciate it. Also, are different Insurance plans subject to different rules and regulations regarding the time lmit in which to request a refund? Guest guest
It all depends on the State Laws and the contractual agreement of that carrier. If in the event that is of no help, contact the State Insurance Commission or State Attorney General's office. In Texas, we have a specific time line and process to follow.
