Guest guest
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get paid for wound care? We tried using 97139 and 97601 and were denied completely. We might just refuse doing wound care because the therapist spends a lot of one-on-one time with the patient and we do not get reimbursed for the cost of supplies. So, it appears to be a lose/lose situation. Any comments? Thanks Diane Skaff Valley Rehabilitation
Guest guest
we have been denied for any codes ending in 9. Their reason is that indicates nonspecific codes. The wound care situation is that it depends on who your FI or Medicare carrier is. Trailblazer will not pay for OT's to do 97601 even if they are CHT and we went all the way to Medicare who said there is no reason that they should not pay for it.
