Hello folks,

I am suspecting my 2 1/2 yr old son has PANDAS and want to start treating it

right away. Is there a protocol to follow, what good supplements to us and how

long does it take?

Can anyone volunteer to mentor me or buddy up with this PANDAS ?

Thanks,

Maya

PANDAS has only been known for ten years.Have there actually been families where it has been traced back longer ? If so,that would be big news, why has nothing been published about this ? Subject: RE: What to use for treating PANDAS?To: mb12 valtrex Date: Monday, August 10, 2009, 8:16

PM

any questions you have hear you can shoot to the group and I am sure we

will all help you! each kid is different and different treatments work for

each! for us we have had good luck with OLE for a few flares but many have

also required zithromyacin! but we found the first few rounds of flares we

had that even after 2-3 rounds of zithromax that it didn't work and OLE

did. so you may have to play with a few things. I recommend to any family

with history if risk of PANDADS NOT to use any probiotics with strep lines

in it

http://www.webpediatrics.com/pandas.htmlThis page says

(5) Presence of auto antibodies (anticardiolipin, antineuronal, antibody/antigen complexes, etc.)For PITAND.Is this true for PANDAS,too ? Subject: Re: What to use for treating PANDAS?To: mb12 valtrex Date: Monday, August 10, 2009, 9:01 PM

Hi Maya,

You can get the ASO and dNASE titres done to find out if the these antibodies are higher than they are supposed to be.

Also We recently had our kids blood work done by Dr Cunningham at oklahoma university to test for PANDAS. She worked with SWEDO before and currently researching PANDAS. Hope this helps.

Madhu.

Tell the doc you would like your child screened for PANDAS. There are two lab values that are looked at for a PANDAS diagnosis.

no we dont have a DAN. Can I do this without a DAN ?

What should I ask the DAN for ? any specific tests? any other bacteria to test for ? is Pandas and lyme related?

thanks,

Are you working with a DAN! doctor? You probably want to check labs for PANDAS.

I'm sure they do, but I will never let my child have it again. It took months

just to reduce the OCD behaviors.
