Guest guest
I faintly remember being told that eating yogurt ever so often helps curb yeast infections. Being a diabetic, I was prone to yeast infections, and even suffered with the infection under my breasts and under arms besides vaginally...oops TMI Even though I had taken Diflucan before, since using yogurt I have not encountered any problems. I eat yogurt about once a week. kiss kiss, Ginger-The *Lone Star* State 9/04 IPF
Guest guest
I'm an " unknown " here (going for diagnostic tests tomorrow, already been told I have interstitial LD found by accident last Nov.), but anyway: Years ago when I was plagued by yeast infections, and no, I'm not kidding, my gynecologist, an old-fashioned dear, dear old man, told me to go to the health food store and buy yogurt pills (tablets) and (I hope there's a moderator to make sure this is OK to post) insert one at night (where needed: guess where?). I didn't have prescription drug coverage way back then, raising two kids by myself, so I appreciated the advice. Can't recommend anyone else follow it, but it worked for me. in PA LOL (because my younger teenaged daughter was with me that day and asked me why I was buying them---and I told her! She was shocked. Oh, the look on her face was priceless. > > Ginger, > Thanks! I eat yogurt almost every day and on the days I don't eat yogurt I take acidophilus. I'm hoping that once I'm off the prednisone the yeast problem will go away but on second thought since I'm likely to stay on the Advair (which has an inhaled steroid) the yeast issue is likely to continue. > > I got some garlic pills today at the health food store. That was Carolyn's suggestion so I'm going to give it a whirl. > > > Beth Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 > > Don't try to explain it, just nod your head. > Breathe in, breathe out. Move on. J. Guest guest
Yogurt, (or live active cultures from health food store) replaces the needed bacteria that the antibiotics destroy. So while it doesnt cure yeast infections it is good for replacing the healthy bacteria our digestive systems need to function.
