Guest guest
beth, Unless you can find a natural antibiotic, I doubt you'll be able to kill Lyme because it is a bacterial infection. My doc has me on various herbs/supplements but doesn't expect them to kill anything. I also have Bartonella and Babesia, Lyme co-infections. All my IgeneX tests came back with some + and some " IND. " Thank God my Lyme doc didn't stop there. Even one + band on the Western Blot should lead a doc to look further. I finally got a very strong positive on the Lyme Dot Assay, a measure of Lyme antigens in the urine. That was after a heavy duty 5-day protocol of antibiotics. I've been on IV Rocephin for 17 months and added IV clindamycin about a month ago. They are hoping the clindamycin will be the knockout punch. I'm on a few orals too. I was sick 24.5 years before diagnosis. At the end there, I was trying to write final letters to my children but was too incoherent to do it. Honestly, the antibiotics saved my life. Val From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of beth DonatiHi Val, beth here. I've been reading but not chiming in much. Over the past couple of months I have been more and more convinced that I am suffering from Lyme's as well. As I have tapered off the WP since March I seem to have gotten sicker and sicker and now I feel like there are so many things wrong with me I don't even know where to begin. I've been tested (Igonex lab) and some results came back +, some - and some inconclusive. Another doctor wants $500 and more tests and I simply can't afford to be sick anymore so am working on some treatments based on much that I've read and the help of a naturopath here locally. I'm going to be doing some IV Vit-C, infrared sauna and hot baths, hyperbaric and I'm going to start on a protocol that involves Teasel and supporting herbs. I just sent a book I'm reading on healing lyme's naturally to my herb gal who has more than 30 years of experience and is amazing. She's excited about learning and helping me. I don't want to do antibiotics as what I've learned is that they don't help late stage lyme's and at this point, I can trace not feeling good back quite a ways. The interesting thing about the WP is that I think the high doses were actually keeping the critter at bay so I wasn't even sicker for the 6 years I was on the WP. Would love anyone's input. Thanks, beth
Guest guest
Right after I got so horribly sick, I started having hypothyroid symptoms. For nine years, I wore long underwear, summer and winter. Finally got testing. My antibodies were in the 800 range (normal = <30). Now that something has destroyed my thyroid (and my knee), my thyroid antibodies are ZERO. I'd be very interested in learning what remedies your doc is using. I use some homeopathics but antibiotics are my primary treatment. Val From: rhythmicliving [mailto:rhythmicliving ] On Behalf Of Janet Abeth, I was treated for lyme/babesia/bartonella with homeopathics by a doctor here in land who utilizes auricular (ear) therapies and diagnoses via pulse testing. He's not the average doc for sure ! I had the lyme blood test done too and only showed positive in one band. The tests are inconclusive as you know. I am not sure how long I had the lyme but under 5 years and maybe as few as 2-3. The homeopathic remedies my doc uses are ones that he's formulated himself along with a remedy manufacturer based on his many years of treating this. I was loosing my mind and, being self employed, the down time was affecting my income horribly. I was sick and majorly fatigued. Every week was a new situation/pain/symptom from sciatica pain to " shoot me NOW " ballastic headache s. About 3-4 months into taking the homeopathics I could tell something had shifted. I continue on a maintenance dose and feel about 80% of my former self at this point. My doc has pronounced me lyme clear at this point. I'm also doing loads of other supplements, vitamins, etc that are helping too, not that I wasn't taking loads of those previously given I have hashi's and adrenal issues. Speaking of hashi's, that is why I went to see this doctor. He believes that much of autoimmune thyroid is lyme. I have done years of research into autoimmune thyroid/adrenal stuff and that was the first time I'd heard a lyme theory. His words were something like, " your body is attacking your thyroid for a good reason and it's probably lyme " . This was different from all the other theories I'd read about the causes of autoimmune disease. & nbs p; I figured I didn't have anything to lose and all to gain. If you'd like more info or want to contact his office about possibly connecting your naturopath with his products please email me directly:seaofqi@... So many are suffering with these tic borne infections and not getting diagnosed. The antibiodics are a can of worms as you know. I also have heard that going at it with antibiodics and natural methods both makes sense too. Good luck!Janet To: rhythmicliving Hi Val, beth here. I've been reading but not chiming in much. Guest guest
I was reading this thread on Lyme and thought that maybe I should bring this up: I am trying this supplement for an after surgery recovery now and it’s pretty amazing. The studies and the product both come from Romania, and its local distributor mentioned that it even helps with autoimmune diseases: http://www.nutritionalcenter.com/site/en/reference/nutrients/view/188 Worth trying- growth factors and normalization/balancing of adrenals can never hurt.
