Guest guest
Hi , The only symptom I have is the extreme shortness of breath with little exertion and it's not all the time. Some times I can walk and walk and be ok for 20 minutes, then all of a sudden my heart starts wanting to come out of my chest. I stop. Check my stats. Oxygen is around 85-89 - heart rate is up 128-135. Or I can just start walking and that will happen. I've never passed out or have any dizziness. I'm a bit swollen, but not too bad. Does anyone know the difference of what they find out from a echo cardiogram vs a heart cath? Someone was telling me that I could just get the echo which is less invasive and it would tell me the same thing. Leanne lentz wrote: I had a "Body Box" breathing test. When all the scores came back, it showed some pulmonary hypertension. Then, I had to go to a cardiologist for the heart cath to determine the extent, then back to the pulmonologist who specializes in pulmonary hypertension. Did he tell you the symptoms? They are: Dizziness and fainting, extreme shortness of breath with little exertion, swollen legs and ankles and tingling in extremeties. I had all symptoms. Good news: It can be treated effectively. thanks Dear all, Thanks for the support. Sher, thanks for the card, although I couldn't open it. Sher, you asked about the pulmonary hypertension. I'm actually not sure how it's determined. They want me to wear a halter monitor for 24 hours and then I figured the cath would tell them information. I'm too new to this stuff. Guest guest
Leanne, The echo shows if there is damage to the heart such as weakness of the muscles which causes heart failure. It shows pressure in both sides of the heart. The amount of volume that passes thru. I'm not sure of the heart cath, but from what I have been thru with hubby the echo usually deals with the walls inside of the heart, not arteries leading to and from the heart. I don't know if this helps. A. HP 6/06 TN Leanne Storch wrote: Hi , The only symptom I have is the extreme shortness of breath with little exertion and it's not all the time.
