Guest guest
My older son and I sometimes can't focus. Lately, I can't even sit down and do my homework cause I can't concentrate long enough. I think it is something in my diet that makes me this way because I have trouble remembering things and thinking of what to say too (retrieval of things in my memory). I think it is wheat and dairy for he and I, but I hate eating GFCF, and it's expensive for all of us to...I probably need it though and so does he. I know my son went off the deep end after I ran out of MB-12 injections, couldn't concentrate or remember his folders and stuff at school. Come to think of it, he was kind of impulsive and hyper too. MB-12 really helped with both these problems cause he was really great for about 4 months. (He's 11). I don't know what to tell you, have you tried MB-12? > > My nearly recovered 3 yr old has begun showing lack of attention in the past couple of months along with some hyperactivity. He is on the same supplement regimen that he has had for the past 1.5 yrs with the exception of going from B6 to P5P. He gets B12 shots every other day and is on a maintance chelation schedule. Also, gets Ketoconazole every other day as a maintenance for yeast. We give very high doese of custom probiotics at night. Does anyone know what could be causing this? He behaves almost typical and I know we are so close that its just really frustrating when behaviors arise. His speech and cognitive abilities have NOT declined in any way and his BM's are awesome. We spent 1.5 yrs battling yeast and clostridia so formed bm's are a blessing to us. Thanks in advance for any advice. >
Guest guest
Sorry, I just realized you said he was on B-12 shots. See, can't focus at all! > > > > My nearly recovered 3 yr old has begun showing lack of attention in the past couple of months along with some hyperactivity. Guest guest
Liz - It’s so ironic that you mention this. I was just talking with a parent the other day and we agreed that we often have many of the same symptoms as our children or even symptoms that are a little different but driven from the same problems. I have been having trouble focusing also and getting motivated to get my work done. I have also been having some female issues that have lead me to a decision about surgery. I decided to try going gluten free and I can’t tell you how much better I felt. I did this for two weeks and then went back on gluten – ugh! I feel horrible again. I haven’t tried MB-12 for myself but if I can tell you that if I feel this much better off of gluten, I will stick with it. I ate a Panini sandwich (gluten & cheese) yesterday that was awesome BUT within two hours, I felt like I was drugged. I had to lay down and take a nap -- then after my next meal, I felt so much better. I keep testing this theory b/c I think deep inside, I really don’t want to admit that I should also be gluten free. After this week, I really think I can get motivated to stay away from gluten. BTW – my seasonal allergies are through the roof when I’m having a gluten attack. I cook almost entirely gluten free for our family meals anyway. We all feel better on it and I refuse to cook separate meals for different people. It’s not that expensive if you cook meals including whole foods (non-processed) and fresh veggies. I make a meat (chicken/lean beef/pork/fish), veggie and a small starch (red potatoes, rice). We make the veggies the largest portion. I make my own gravies and add individual spices for flavoring. You can do it – hang in there.
