Guest guest
blood is not reliable. hormones are always up and down in the blood. the readings would be different at different hours. saliva is more consistent. as per dr. jerry tennant, m.d. Re: relieving menopause symptoms but i think ive read somewhere saliva test not as accurate as blood. let me know as i am considering the do it yourself route too. >> > Hi I am responding to Shalywells recent post. I just joined this site and have read a bit. I decided to test my own hormones via saliva tests (yes you can do that without a doctor). I did it through the Dr Lee site since I wanted to check levels of all my estrogens and they offer all those tests. You can also get a bit cheaper saliva tests from the Vitamin Lady website. Both are from well known labs. > > > > I am planning on using bio identical hormone creams - both estrogen and progesterone, but NOT with any sort of protocols like the Wiley one.> > > I will plan to get that baseline on my own and then check it every 6 months to see how the levels are doing. > > > This is basically what the doctors do for a hefty fee. So many reliable bio identicals are available on the internet if you research a bit, so no need for a pricey compounded version either. Anyhow, this is my plan ....>

Guest guest
Celty, Please supply more information regarding D. Jerry Tennant. For the great saliva versus serum debates see the group archives. I think there's lots about urine testing too. As well, read Dr. Formby's article on the website about Progesterone being and insidious hormone.
