Guest guest
My take on that is that they need to be turned in to the Insurance Commission to whatever state you are in because that is fraud. If there is a code to use for what you are providing then you must use it. Bubba Klostermann OT, CVE, CEAS President, WORK & REHAB 4546 South 14 th Abilene, Texas 79605 phone: fax: email: bubklo@... Guest guest
Actually, it is not fraud if the insurance company only accepts this 97799 CPT code. Depends on your contract with the insurance company. I have seen this used most often when insurance companies pay a single fee for treatment, regardless of the treatment rendered. The insurer pays for example, $55/visit and you are supposed to use the 97799 code. This is their " coding system " . Others can make up their own code numbers if they want. Oftentimes, you can use other CPT codes, but if the 97799 code is not included in your charges the bill will be denied as the 97799 code is their " system " .
