Guest guest
Hi everybody...I had a few questions regarding BHRP, and I wanted to get some opinions of women who use them since it seems every 'expert' has a different opinion.I'm 21 years old and went on the Wiley Protocol in about April or May of this year. I've always had low issues with lower than normal estrogen for a girl my age, however on WP because I was having severe premenopausal symptoms due to extremely low estrogen, which was caused by being underweight (I'm about 5'6" weighing about 90 lbs). The idea my doctor and I had initially was to go on BHRP until I got back up to a normal weight, but that hasn't happened because an eating disorder is kind of like an addiction. When I was a totally normal weight (no, not athletic or into sports/fitness either) I still had the estrogen issue...Anyways, regarding the hormones, I'm not really sure what to do. It seems like when I get up to about 4 lines of the estradiol cream I start having some symptoms of anxiety, and I've been dividing the doses 4 x a day since the estrogen levels for WP are very high. But the cream, overall speaking HAS done more good IMO than harm so I want to stay on it. I do get a 'period', it's always before day 28.I'm just not quite sure how to know when the receptor sites have turned over ( I assume when the fluctuations STOP)or if there is a standard dosage based on BMI. I don't know how to know how reliable the test results are, all I know is they've been very disappointing (pro being hardly ANYTHING and est being in the 50's range, but it has recently gone up to the 100s which I was happy about)...Any feedback or advice would be appreciated. Guest guest
1. I don't know what BHRP is. 2. There is some question whether estradiol, because of the molecule size, can even be delivered through a cream. I use Estrogel. It is bio-identical estradiol in an alcohol gel base. 3. You're not going to have normal hormones as long as you starve your body. I have a DIL who is anorexic. She's been to all sorts of physicians and dieticians. She's a professionally sponsored triathlete and was getting so slow and weak she was dropping out of races. Finally, she found a sports nutritionist to show her how nourishing her body would make her a faster triathlete. She's followed his advice exactly and is back to winning. She added four pounds of muscle and lost one pound of fat in just two weeks. My son says this nutritionist has done more for her than all the shrinks, counselors, eating disorder experts, pills, etc. She started having periods again after five years.
