Guest guest
Hi Joyce, Have you tried to use your wedge under your knees. Might work if you sleep on your back. How high does the geni lift your bed? I'm thinking you could do something with duct tape to hold somethin somewhere..LOL Peggy 9/04 ipf Florida Beth, Glad to see you back because I need to ask you a question. I got the bed genie. Went to bed and was so glad to be able to go to sleep in my bed all comfy. But....I still slide down...just like I do with the wedge and pillows. I wake up and at the bottom of the 'hill' and smothering. How do you stay where you need to be at the top of the bed....velcro? I am glad to have you back and am so proud of your courage to travel alone with 02. Get rested, unpacked and let us hear all about your trip. Guest guest
Joyce, Actually yes, what I do is velcro my ears to the mattress so that I don't slide. OK not really... I don't know what to say, I don't seem to slide down. Maybe my big heavy butt keeps me planted in place? Maybe it's those satin sheets and jammies you use??? Alright all kidding aside, perhaps my head isn't quite as elevated as yours? I wonder if you put a pillow at the foot of the bed...might that help prevent it? I can imagine this is very frustrating...I don't really understand why it's not happening to me? Thanks for asking about the trip. I really do relish the travel and I'm determined to keep doing it as long as I'm able. So far I can do it as long as I'm willing to go slowly and stop frequently (potty stops, medicine stops, tank changing stops, nap stops, it's a wonder I make any progress at all! LOL) I spent nearly two weeks at my wonderful sister's home in Hillsborough NC. Hillsborough is about 15 minutes east of Durham in the middle of NC. She has two little girls, is 4 and Gracie is 2 and a half so Christmas was very exciting to say the least!Santa was good to everyone. My son was also with me. It was great to be able to spend some time with him. Please keep him in your prayers. He continues to struggle with many things that I am helpless to do anything about. Even given that we enjoyed our time together and had several outings where I impressed him with my ability to carry on despite the difficulties imposed by this awful disease. It's funny I don't view any of it as impressive or brave or anything like that. ly I think it's just a mixture of denial and stubborness. I'm not ready to give in yet. I see this same thing is all of us here. We're all stronger than we ever thought we could be huh? Pick any name of any of the folks in this group and we could think of the ways we admire their courage and strength, all different but all inspiring. We're all fighting in our own way. Right now my way of fighting is to carry on as normally as I can for as long as I can. I always tell my doctor, if this disease wants to kill me it's going to have to chase me around for awhile first! Beth Fibrotic NSIP 06/06 Don't try to explain it, just nod your head. Guest guest
Joyce from Sher...I have the Genie too but I don't slide so much. Maybe the head is TOO high??? I really like it and I think I sleep better with my head up a bit. My husband even likes it. Says his reflux is better!
