When I was getting too much progesterone, I did that.

Hi everyone,

I just completed my period 1 week ago and now it's starting up again!!!! What

type of hormone problem is this? Is it low or high estrogen or progesterone?

Thanks,

This is just my understanding- from what I've read, and from my experience with

the low doses of progesterone that I am using:

In the middle ranges, more progesterone relative to estrogen tends to bring the

period earlier. Also, a sharp drop in progesterone application can cause

spotting and/or earlier start of a period. Women 'lengthen' their cycle when

they apply more estrogen in the first half of it (estrogen builds the lining).

However, when the levels of the both hormones are high, the lining may become

unstable with more estrogen, and start shedding earlier as well.

If I was in your situation (I am not using estrogen myself at all), I would

gauge the cause of the short period by slightly increasing your estrogen- and

see if that would give you a longer period.

Never change the dose drastically- just a bit at a time. You may need to

carefully play with your dosing for a few cycles before you get it right. But

once it's right, you'll know that's what is right for you.

Oh, as I said, my experience is with a low-dose progestrerone application (for

estrogen dominance, no perimenopause yet). If your progesterone dosing is

sky-high, you may also be bleeing more often. In that case, try to decrease

progesterone a bit at a time- and see what it does. If your cycle is getting

longer- great, but if your symptomes of low progesterone return in the process-

add just a bit of estrogen instead of decreasing P next time. Again, proceed

slow until you get it right. That's the key.

What are the symptoms of low progesterone?

I was once on a compounded triest sublingual and compounded progesterone,

100 mg. I bled too often so the compounding pharmacist doubled the P dose

to 200 mg. Then I bled constantly. The progesterone fixation seems to have

originated with Lee and really has little to no research behind it.

Irritability, anexiety, rage, water gain- especially every time I hit the

ovulation days, and throughout 'PMS' period. That's how it was all my life since

I started my periods. Adding 1/4 dose of Wiley P cured this completely. Not only

mood, but apearance, as well. I don't have 'fat days' anymore. I always lifted

weights but couldn't get my body fat below 20 %. It prevented me from competing

when I was really interested in doing it. Now, without any cardio, I am down to

18 % of body fat (116 lb at 5'6 " ) due to keeping water weight to a minimum at

all times during my cycle.
