Guest guest
Colleen, Xanax is considered one of the bad meds for LBD. Better for agitation would be to try Seroquel, which I think he has already been on? I hate to think your husband is starting another round of the wrong meds. Xanax is also addicting I believe. Hopefully someone who knows the med better than I can jump in. It sounds like his nh doctor is not very LBD aware, may need some educating. Please stay on top of this for him. What meds is he on now? > > Is Xanax contraindicated in LBS? They have just started a low dose q 6 hours prn for my husband and it seems to be working to reduce agitation. > Colleen > colleenlyall@... > > >
Guest guest
Xanax is a pretty strong drug. Last year when I was told that Mom was in the dying process and I was at my doctor I asked him to write me a prescription that would help me 'hold it together' after she passed. Two nights after she died, I was feeling very shaky and jumpy and I think that it was just all of the stress because I had not yet taken anything and was running on adrenaline. I took one Xanax and then my brother left to take his wife and kids to the motel they were staying at and when he came back I was laying on the floor in the living room. He couldn't wake me up, when he finally did he asked me something and I said 'Oh,no....who is with Mom' or something like that and he asked me where I thought she was...then I remembered that she had died. Well...that is the absolute last time that I did and ever will take one of those pills. > > > > Is Xanax contraindicated in LBS?
