Guest guest Posted December 11, 2006 Report Share Posted December 11, 2006 Been on Prednisone since fall of 1998. As high as 60 as low as 7 but been on 20 mg for the last year. My UIP (8/00) is secondary to Polymositis. PM is a muscle disease that back in 98 I thought I would be in a wheel chair with in a few years. Still on my feet thanks to Prednisone. If i don't take it my muscles go into a flare and I get weak and during a flare my lungs get inflamed which increases the rate of fibrosis. The fibrosis is still growing but at a lower rate since my lung biopsy in 2000. I did go on O2 in 8/04 24/7 but I am over six years after diagnose. My weight has stayed around 255 for the last three years and have no problem getting sleep.
