Dear all, Thanks for the support. Sher, thanks for the card, although I couldn't open it. Sher, you asked about the pulmonary hypertension. I'm actually not sure how it's determined. They want me to wear a halter monitor for 24 hours and then I figured the cath would tell them information. I'm too new to this stuff. Can someone who has hypertension fill us in? I had a "Body Box" breathing test. When all the scores came back, it showed some pulmonary hypertension. Then, I had to go to a cardiologist for the heart cath to determine the extent, then back to the pulmonologist who specializes in pulmonary hypertension. Did he tell you the symptoms? They are: Dizziness and fainting, extreme shortness of breath with little exertion, swollen legs and ankles and tingling in extremeties. I had all symptoms.

Good news: It can be treated effectively.

thanks

I was diagnosed with PH a few years ago with an echo cardiagram. Then about six months later they did another one which was negative. Later they did an induced stress echocardiagram and it was negative. But the transplant doc said that only with the cath could they make a definate diagnosis. They did not find any PH when they did the cath and I was so glad.

I do think it is common to PF.

Hi, I have been off the computer for a long time. My husband was in the hospital again, he passed out, the 3. time, this was bad. It was diagnosed as pulmonary hypertension, I'm not clear on that either, something about the blood not pumping fast enough to the heart. His right side has become enlarged. Now he needs more oxygen. I keep missing the chats on Thursday .. doctor's apptm. HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!! Gretel Leanne Storch wrote: Dear all, Thanks for the support. The medecine I take is Trecleer. It is very expensive but insurance should pay for most of it. I have been on it for a month. So far, I have not noticed too much difference except I dont faint quite as often as before. P. (in our group) is also taking it. Maybe he can tell you if he feels better.

thanks
