Guest guest
> It was a florist delivery! My " true love " sent me a beautiful > bouquet of red anthuriums Those the flowers with the very phallic center? I remember when my BIL and two other guys started a business. One of the guy's mother sent them Best Wishes flowers. It had 3 anthuriums in there with each of their first names written on it in glitter. I was ROFLMAOing. Anyway, that's what they remind me. Very tropical and cool looking! I gave Rich his presents last week because I couldn't stand having them and keeping a secret. I'm bad. I gave him a new red gym bag (which he really needed) and a cool tie-dyed St. Louis Cardinals t- shirt. He loved both. Plus a few cards. The other day he gave me a couple of cards and a couple of stuffed animals. I assume flowers are coming. He made a big deal yesterday of saying why he got me the stuffed animals rather than flowers, yada yada yada (because he buys me flowers plenty of other times). Me thinketh the man protesteth too much. Kathy
Guest guest
What a wonderful, and well-deserved surprise! I'm beaming for and with you, Robyn. On this highest of Hallmark Holy Days, it's important to remember that WE are the most important individuals in our own lives. If we don't love ourselves, it's not so easy to share that emotion -- or ourselves -- with others. Happy Valentine's Day, Melodye

Guest guest
Happy Valentine's Day to Robyn and everyone. I used to think that Valentine's Day was only meant for lovers. But now, in my advanced age...ok, no laughing at that one....I know it's about telling everyone you love that you love them. So, with that in mind, I want everyone here to know how dear and special you all are to me and Happy Valentine's Day. May you know that someone loves you!! Guest guest
> My lover got me an eternity ring for VD! Very, very nice! So far, I've gotten a couple of cards and a stuffed bear and dog. He's been talking smack about picking them out yadda yadda yadda. And I know what our VD budget was so I'm sure there is something else. Was sort of expecting flowers at work but nothing came by the time I left. We'll see. If the stuffed animals are it, Rich'll wake up in the morning with the bear's head. ROFLMAO. Kathy

Guest guest
Happy belated Valentines Day!! Sorry didnt check my mail much yesterday. But I love all you ladies here so much all the time!! At any rate, wanted to share my V-day laugh..... last Friday.......my soon to be ex-spouse sends me roses to my work (he always sends them the day before because its cheaper), only to accuse me of having an affair at the same time. (Keep in mind I live in a very small town) Well the person he " thinks " I'm having an affair with lives 6,000 miles away in Alaska. A person that I have not physcially laid my eyes on for 5 1/2 years. We are just good friends and he has called a few times since the passing of my Mom. He was close with my Mom and remained in contact with her after I moved away. Well as I'm standing at work yesterday on the phone arguing with my soon to be ex spouse, in walks the same delivery person with another dozen roses. Guess who they are from? Yep, my good friend 6,000 miles away. The delivery person says........you are the most popular woman in town. I just started cracking up!! So now I'm sure that person thinks I'm having an affair. I guess it doesnt sound that funny when you type it out....but everyone in my office couldn't stop laughing. It was just the way the delivery person said it. On a lighter note, my spouse is coming to terms with our divorce FINALLY. He told me I'm not worth dying for last night. I guess he's been having chest pains. I find it interesting how he is going to blame me for those too. He already blames the surgery. He doesn't seem to remember the problems we've had the year before surgery. Anyway, I think it has more to do with, his heart doctor told him two years ago, lose weight or your more arteries will be clogged, not to mention he's slacked off taking his cholesterol medicine. Well believe me the diet this man has is enough to clog three people's arteries. You know I'm not in love with the man anymore, but I certainly dont want anything bad to happen to him, no matter how big a jerk he is and when I try to encourage him to eat heart healthier and lose weight, he tells me " Okay Ms. Healthnut, you worry about you. " Oh well, you can lead the horse to water, but you can't make em drink huh? Chelle (Counting down the days till we are CA bound).
Guest guest
I opted not to cut my bear's head off and leave it in the bed with Rich this morning but I seriously gave it some consideration. I had a complete and utter meltdown last night. Nope, the two stuffed animals he gave me Friday were my " gift " . I was pissed. He made a big deal about staying in " budget " . Oh boy. Yes, if the budget is $50 (more like $70) spending $5 is definitely *under budget*. Grrrrrr. I had given him his gifts the week before. A new gym bag since he goes to the gym everyday now and a Cards t-shirt that he adores. I put thought into the gifts. Heck, he sent my sister flowers. If my mother was alive, he would have sent her flowers too. He sent his mom flowers. He didn't send me flowers because he buys me flowers for no reason throughout the year and figured that was just fine. I cried my eyes out. It was pretty darned pathetic. I felt bad but hey I was telling him how I felt. Of course, how I feel these days is highly tempered by chronic pain and depression (because of said pain). Now he feels like an idiot. Oh well. We'll survive this. And at least I won't get stuffed animals again for a major holiday. Kathy

Guest guest
OMGoodness...OK -- I didn't realize there was candy attached to the gift...I'd be pissed! Tell him I'm pissed at him, and that Mike wouldn't even consider chocolates...that oughtta teach him. Oh well -- what's done is done...gotta love him anyway! Our first year we were married, we moved away from all my family, were living with his psycho aunt and uncle, and he forgot my birthday. He got home that evening and I asked how his day was... 'fine'. Anything important happen today...'no'. Ya know what today is...'Tuesday'. (Then he got that he had forgotten something.) Anything besides just 'TUESDAY'...'no -- what's going on?' My favorite response...in that high pitched sing-song tone... 'Oh, nothing dear...nothing IMPORTANT anyway' Then he sat there figuring out the date...Tuesday, December 20...Geez -- I dunno -- what's today. I give up -- what's today? Ok -- o talk about pissed...not only had we been married 3 months prior, moved away from my family in Sunny SoCal to 70-below-Chicago (and yes, it was 70-below zero that day), living with a psycho woman, he not only forgot it was my b-day, but when he figured out what date it was, still didn't remember that it was THEEE day. He paid for that one for about 5 years...he doesn't forget dates anymore. He doesn't always have the money to buy me the gift he wants to, so he compromises..but he makes a good effort. Kathy -- Rich is in training...he'll learn! take care jb-bb Kathy wrote: > i wasn't aware that VD was a najor holiday. I met Rich in October of 2003. My birthday is in November. I'm sure he asked me when my birthday was but apparently it glazed right over his head. He had come over my house two days prior and brought me some fall mums and a little teddy bear. No mention of birthday. In the meantime, birthday cards had come and I had them on display on the counter/bar. He couldn't miss them if they didn't bite him in the ass if he turned around. Well, my birthday comes and he comes over for dinner. Mind you, he worked til 9 pm so dinner was very late. We had dinner. No mention of birthday. No card. No gift. Mind you he had just brought me something for " nothing " two days prior. Then I mentioned " well, it is my birthday today. " He said he didn't know. I said " Look around, plenty of signs that its my birthday " . Let me just say that I pulled that out of my arsenal for quite a while to tease him and he definitely made it up to me on the next birthday. Yes, he is learning. Guest guest
Cool, Jodi - can't wait to see it! bought me a sterling silver and gold ring by Hardy. I love Hardy and, unfortunately, Yurman (expensive). <g> My MIL works for a really nice jewelry store in Savannah and if family members have a charge, the store doesn't charge finance charges. Kind of like layaway, but you get the merchandise upfront. Over the years, I pick out what I want and show it to him or say, " Look what you got me. " LOL! Works better that way as I get what I want and he doesn't have to worry about making a goof. We make wishlists. Hugs,
