Guest guest
It seems that there are a few people who want to try using aspirin alone. Because of the recent article comparing aspirin and Coumadin, a few people may think aspirin will protect them from blood clots. While this may be true, the article also mentioned that Coumadin was better in preventing blood clots from forming in the heart. People who have afib have to be more concerned with these blood clots. My life style nor my diet have changed due to Coumadin. Ray

Ray Hi Ray, I am on aspirin alone (and my cardiologists also thinks this is the best choice for me at the moment). There is some research suggesting that if you are under 60 and have no other problems the risk of stroke is less than the risks associated with warfarin. (There is other research saying that warfarin is better than aspirin for preventing clots forming in the heart - it's never easy!) I would suggest that if anybody wants to change meds they consult their Doctors and talk their own particualr case through. cheers -- D
