Guest guest
I have been following the posts from this group for the last three weeks so I am relatively new to anti viral treatment, though not so new to Biomedical intervention. My four year old son, , had congenital CMV. We have a local DAN doctor who we started with 1 1/2 ago. She has helped us make great gains with our son, but anti viral is not part of her standard treatment. We thought of going to another doctor, but she said she is willing to try Valtrex with us. I am relieved to not have to start with a new doctor, but at the same time relying on this group for advice since my doctor does not have experience with this. She was hesitant to keep him on Nizoral for longer than a couple of weeks so she has only agreed that we can do a Nizoral/ Valtrex course for one month than we must run blood work before we continue. Have your doctors had this same concern with prolonged use of Nizoral or Diflucan? Also, I have read that you give the Valtrex in doses of three times a day. My son goes to school Mon/ Wed/ Fri from 9-3:30. She feels giving the doses at 8:30 AM, 3:30 PM, & 8:30 PM would be adequate so we don't have to ask his school to give him medicine. Please let me know if this spacing is a mistake and do you give the anti fungal at the same time as his antiviral- not to mention the rest of the supplements in his concoction of biomed supplements? I am anxious to get started and nervous at the same time. goes to a special school three days a week, but starts at a new " typical " school on Tues. and Thurs. in September and if there is going to be any strange side effects or a regression of some sort, I'd like to get it over with as soon as possible. Thank you for any advice- we are on a family vacation this week and will get started on Tuesday of next week. Colleen
