Thanks Joyce, I see a few things I am checking into. I would not have thought of the water. Or getting the names & #'s. . I do have a little bag in my BOA with batteries and small supplies. I have extra cannulas and hoses, connectors.

We are going to be at the Church of God camp ground. I didn't sleep last night. I'm glad I have time to catch up..lol

Now on to find warm clothes.. It's COLD there for me.

Is there anything you do to keep the air from freezing your sinuses? I get such headaches from the cold air going up my nose.

God Bless you and Carolyn for the help.

Love and Prayers, Peggy 9/04 ipf Florida

Peggy,

It is me, Miss Know it All..butting in.

You do know that you can call your 02 provider and they will set you up with a concentrator and all the tanks you need while you are at your destination. They bring tubing, connectors and whatever you need. I always have extra peices and parts with me in case they forget something....and it happens! Tell them if you want a water bottle, but take your own distilled water or buy some there. They don't supply that. You only need enough tanks to get you there and you can trade out while you are there. When you leave the hotel, or whrever, have them call the 02 company to pick up. I have been doing this a long time so maybe I am Miss Know it All!

p.s. when you call to set this up, get the name and ph # of the company there and ask for the name of a contact person. You can call enroute to see if everything is ready. I always ask them to bring it the day before.

Hugs and have a great time,

There are towns close by though (Signal Mountain for instance) where the elevations are higher so be aware of that. Changes in elevation above sea level alter your bodies need for O2 drastically. Also the environment will be different (new kinds of trees, vegetation etc etc) and that can make your O2 needs change so just be aware of it.

Hi Beth. When I contacted the SS office they consider terminal within a two {2} year time frame. If you will live longer than 2 years that to them is not terminal. Go Fgure. A HP 6/06TN Beth wrote: , The whole Social Security thing can be very intimidating. Have you talked to someone at

a Social Security office? Even with a life expectancy of 10 years, it's still considered terminal. I'm only 47 and the life expectancy for NSIP is 5-10 years so I'm not that different from you. I don't know whether or not you paid enough in to be able to collect a benefit. I worked from the time I was 14 except for a few years when my son was little so there was no doubt about me lol If you haven't already, go talk to someone at a ss office and see what the story is. , I'm so surprised at all the varied responses many of us have

had from Social Security. When I called my local office, I first asked

just for early retirement information. She asked why and I told her

about the diagnosis of NSIP. She suggested the disability claim

and sent me loads of forms. I filled everythng out, many of the

questions did not apply to me . I called her and she said to write a

detailed letter about my condition, doctors, medications, etc. I did

that. Obviously, my doctors filled out the forms. I never had an in

person interview or a separate doctor appointment from Social

Security.Everything was on the phone or by mail. In less than one month

I had heard from burg, PA that I had been approved for both the

early and disability claims. The money started within 6 weeks and was

retroactive to 6months after my diagnosis!!!!! I never personally

mentioned that NSIP was considered to be terminal but I can safely

assume that the doctors did.Being 63 ( 61 when diagnosed) I'll just

get the amount until 65 when I'll start getting half of my husband's.

But for now...I'll take it.
