Guest guest
Lynn I think people with other lung diseases do take the liquid with a nebulizer. pink joyce > > Hi Joyce, I have a quick question. Guest guest
Lynn, I know that you addressed this to the other Joyce, but I will butt in. I use Acetylcysteine in my nebulizer. My pulmo says it is better to put it directly into the lungs. It smells! It does bring the mucus out, however. Hugs, Joyce PF 1997 Bronchiectasis 2004 INDIANA >> Hi Joyce, I have a quick question. Guest guest
Joyce, Yes, I do use a nebulizer anyway. I neb Duoneb 4 times a day and I was doing Pulmicort until voice problems. So, I use the Acetylcysteine right after. It really works. I have a lot of mucus due to the Bronchiectasis. Guest guest
, what do you pay for the liquid NAC? My insurance won't pay for anything that is a "supplement"....I'm considering the liquid because NAC is an ongoing requirement by my Dr. Then insurance will pay. Insurance! Bah, Humbug! Can't do with or without. Thanks. Sher "Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there" Re: Joyce taking liquid NAC Thanks . Guest guest
Oh. Thanks , I misunderstood. Thought YOU were taking the liquid. I too take the pill form. The price is real good through Puritan but over the years it amounts up to a lot. Have a great day. At Puritan.com I can get 3 bottles of 120 pills for $26.38 plus $3.95 shipping. that's 360 pills or enough for 120 days at three a day. Not to bad, if insurance would cover it, the cost would be $20 for 90 days So depending on your deductible it might be cheaper to get pills. Sher K Bauman wrote: , what do you pay for the liquid NAC? Guest guest
Yes. When I do the numbers, it is cheaper and easier. I too buy in quantity. Did you say how long you have been on NAC and does it help you? It helps me. Sher "Don't worry about tomorrow, God is already there" Re: Joyce taking liquid NAC Thanks . Guest guest
Hi Sher I have been on NAC for over a year. Before I started it I would have a lot of mucus especially in the morning when I got up. Would set in kitchen for 1/2 hour coughing and waiting for o2 to come up. I now have virtually not mucus still the dry cough but NO mucus P UIP 8/00Sher K Bauman wrote: Yes. When I do the numbers, it is cheaper and easier. I too buy in quantity. Guest guest
...sounds like I used to be as well. I have no cough/mucus now. No more morning coughing and hacking! I noticed a difference in a couple of weeks. Nice to have something that works, huh.
