Zithromax and increase in OCD behavior

My girl has been taking Zithromax (actually azythromicin, the

pharmacy substitute) for the last two weeks and her involuntary body

movements have increased. During our time with her in the playroom,

she puts her hand in front of her eyes, drops on her knees, jumps

(both legs airborne-- not her usual style) and makes lots of funny

sounds, plus scripting, flexes, etc. She's still with me, but when

these things happen she's in another world.

Is this the " getting worse before it gets better " reaction?

I assume the only way to see if the PANDAs titers are down is another

blood test, right?

Have you considered an antifungal with the antibiotic? I won't let my kids have

antibiotics without antifungals anymore. Nor anyone in my family. I think

yeast caused my son's ocd behaviors back in the day.

I don't know what wuold be best, but I can tell you what we do around here, and

my son's gut is clean.

We pop garlic like pills. I cut raw organic garlic into pill size pieces and he

downs them with water. He gets GSE in his school lunch water bottle and into

anything else that I remember to put it in. Probiotics, etc. Very low sugar

round here. For us that has worked, but my son is not on antibiotics. If he

had to take them, I would make the doctor give him nystatin with them, me

thinks. But again....... I'm no expert. I " m sure others could have more

insight.

Another garlic idea that takes the " edge " off the taste but still retains all

the benefits is to roast garlic in the oven.
