Look out for anything with "natural flavors" it's a hidden name for MSG. It is best just to eat whole foods.>> Hi,> > my sons dan doc wants him off of cheerios well gluten I have taken him off goldfish since June but I recently added back in cheerios cause i am looking for a healthy lowfat snack and he likes them for breakfast I dont like gluten free somuch as it all has corn in it and I dont think that is good for us either does anybody have any cheerios alternative that tastes good?> > Thanks,> > kimmy>

Kimmy - if you are going gluten free it not just to eat healthy- it's normally to remove a food source causing leaky gut. That' s why people also remove dairy b/c they chemical protein chains are very similar to gluten. It's not about being allergic to wheat or dairy either, it's about lacking the necessary enzymes to break down the proteins. For some people, the digestive enzymes help but are not always a substitute for removing the foods especially during the first few years while the gut heals. Some people do actually have an allergy to these foods, too. You Won't see results until all gluten is removed - even cheating once in a while will set most kids back until the gut heals. My son has been GF for 12 years and can now have a gluten infraction once in a great while as long as we use the enzymes. I recommend TriEnza by Houston Enzymes- it covers enzymes to digest carbs, gluten, phenols, and more. When trying new GF foods, don't expect them to taste normal. There will be an adjustment period and after a few months, the food will taste better (at least our experience). There are several GF cherrie-o's to try. Wish you all the best. Hi, they have several gluten free cereals

at Whole Foods Market, they have the Cereals by Glutino, and The brand Gorilla

Munch, with several different kinds, they are quite tasty and very easy to use

when on a gluten free diet.. I hope this helps and good luck, you can do it..

Can you tell me other things you feed your son so he gets his fats and proteins on this diet? Also, what cereals and where do you get them? Gluten free oatmeal? Any other tricks so he gets calcium? Thanks.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: " Soliday" Date: Sat, 25 Jul 2009 05:26:19 -0000To: <mb12 valtrex >Subject: Re: getting my son off cheerios My son didn't improve until after we removed all forms of MSG and sources of soy. There actually weren't many cereals left. Glutino has " natural flavors " and Enviro-kids cereals may contain traces of soy. He loved the Koala Krispies, but improved so much when we stopped all those cereals. He does okay with the Arrowhead Mills ones, Maple Buckwheat flakes and their sweet rice flakes. I'm not saying anyone has to do what I did, but if your child doesn't improve, you may want to give it a try. I was very skeptical because we went 8 months with no results from GFCF before I decided to try avoiding more foods...then it worked. > > > > Hi, > > > > my sons dan doc wants him off of cheerios well gluten I have taken him off > goldfish since June but I recently added back in cheerios cause i am looking > for a healthy lowfat snack and he likes them for breakfast I dont like > gluten free somuch as it all has corn in it and I dont think that is good > for us either does anybody have any cheerios alternative that tastes good? > > > > Thanks, > > > > kimmy > > >

Wow. This is so helpful. Thank you for writing it all down. I am printing it out and taking to costco. I didn't know costco had all of this. Are the fruits at costco all organic that you get? Grapefruit? Potatoes?Where do you get your fish? I am getting it at whole foods now - very expensive. Thanks so much,Thanks.Sent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: " Soliday" Date: Sat, 25 Jul 2009 13:10:31 -0000To: <mb12 valtrex >Subject: Re: getting my son off cheerios For fats and proteins, he eats nitrate free-MSG free bacon and ham, organic or hormone/antibiotic free hamburger, chicken, wild Alaskan salmon, Halibut; avocadoes, macademia nuts, I make my own salad dressings and we use: olive oil, grapeseed oil, and coconut oil often. Use coconut oil on hot cereals and on veggies like butter. He eats almost all fruits/veggies (except grapes/plums). He eats gluten free oatmeal (Bob's Red Mill has two types, Irish and regular), whole buckwheat (cooked as hot cereal), Erwehorn (I think) Crisp Rice, Arrowhead Mills Maple Buckwheat Flakes, puffed rice, puffed millet, sometimes GFCF organic corn flakes. I use potato flour, rice flour and sorghum flour to make pancakes, biscuits, and cookies. Vegetables contain calcium, he also eats organic eggs (duck and chicken). The diet seems real expensive but it's not really when you remember how much stuff you are not buying that you usually would. My kids eat a lot of berries and nuts this time of year. I fix a colorful vegetable plate and they love that. We get about 1/2 our groceries at Costco and the rest at a local market. Costco has: Organic Hamburger Organic Chicken Organic Frozen vegetables (corn, peas, beans) Big bags of: Grapefruit, potatoes, etc. fruits and veggies you like Pesticide free colored bell pepper Hothouse/Greenhouse tomatoes Maple Syrup I try to buy locally too, at street stands and farmer's markets. There is enough calcium in vegetables and eggs to be sufficient. I do give a Cal-Mag-Vit D supp. occassionally in smoothies. > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > my sons dan doc wants him off of cheerios well gluten I have taken him off > > goldfish since June but I recently added back in cheerios cause i am looking > > for a healthy lowfat snack and he likes them for breakfast I dont like > > gluten free somuch as it all has corn in it and I dont think that is good > > for us either does anybody have any cheerios alternative that tastes good? > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > kimmy > > > > > >

Hi there,

I was so excited yesterday to find out that Costco started to carry organic frozen broccoli (this veggie is suppose to help with detox).

They also carry organic frozen berries.

I don't think potatoes are organic, but the carrots are organic.

They carry organic potato chips. organic corn chip, organic soy milk, organic hot oatmeal if you or your family can have any of this food.

Plus eco-friendly laundry detergent, dish washer and hand soaps with great prices and they work great.

Just in a last year their list of organic stuff got much longer.

I hope it helps,

Natasha.
