I had to laugh to myself when I read what you said about the docs testing our cognitive dysfunction. I keep a list on the computer of my meds/doses so I just print it off and take it, like many of us do. My internist is a wonderful woman I have been seeing for years. My daughter-in-law used to work with her and she's seen other family members. She always asks me about the family. I told my dil I thought Dr. C was slipping a bit because she keep asking the same questions over and over. She will ask about the family at the beginning of the visit and then again towards the end. (All of her appts. are 30 minutes long). I told my dil that I thought Dr. C's age was showing (she's about my age) because her

memory was getting bad. It was several visits after that it suddenly dawned on me that she was checking ME! Talk about cognitive dysfunction!! ROFLSharon Re: Sharon's LDN update and life update I don't carry a purse anymore, though when I first started have balance issues, I carried a backpack rather than a purse. The backpack was great,

I could gather up ALL my pills [i didn't take all kinds of natural supplements for fatigue] and bells & whistles and carry them with me wherever I went. I've always been one to carry a bottle of my favorite drink with me too. [Was at a funeral home at one time, when my cousins walked into the room where I was, and one said to the other.. "Ask Donna, she's always got a stash"... did the heads turn to look at me!!!!... she meant the something to drink in my purse stashed away... lol]....... I'm not sure I could even carry a backpack now without it causing me to lose my balance. As for the doctors asking all sorts of questions.. like what medications are you taking... I always thought they were being a donkey-head asking me when it's right there in front of them on the chart (at least what I'm SUPPOSED to be taking lol).. then I read somewhere that believe it or not, it's part of the ESS testing thing to rate us on that Disability Scale thing... If we can't

tell them what we take, that's cognitive dysfunction. .. at one point in time, I could have told them what each medication was, what dosage and how often.. I'm not sure that would happen today though. There is a method to all their madness even if it seems that the method is only to drive us mad with their questions. |)onna ------------ -- Original message ------------ --------- - From: cassandra workmn <payngabby72@ yahoo.com> > Thats a good idea too.Take the box to the doc.Everytime I go they ask,and im > like well dont you already know? Its in the computer.lol. .and they still want me > to tell em.I finally wrote it down to take with to every appt. Thats a good idea too.Take the box to the doc.Everytime I go they ask,and im like well dont you already know? Its in the computer.lol. .and they still want me to tell em.I finally wrote it down to take with to every appt. IF i Took all my pills it would be a box.lol.It weighs my purse down.and its a little hard to walk with a cane or walker and a big fat heavy purse that jiggles.lol. . If something that needed called in for the next week I would sit it to the

left of the box. When my pill of bottles were empty, then i READ THE SCRIPT#'S to the pt's husband and then put those in the lock box. That pt had a habit of taking too much of her pain or nerve pills so the bottles were kept locked up. The other nice thing is if you go to the hopital like I had to you just pick up your case and when they ask what you take you give it to them. When I take it camping I have an ice chest in it that keeps things cool for at least 2 days. When it is at home it is locked and in a closed off place in my room. The kids all know that it is off limits. ' in Texas Courage is not being fearless, courage is facing your fears and not running for cover!
