Guest guest
I know it has been asked in the past, but all I can find are posts with hard chamber results at least initially. We are planning on renting a mild chamber for a month and doing the Neubrander protocol of 90 hours, 1 1/2 hours in the AM and 1 1/2 in the PM every day and then taking a month break and hoping to see progress. We have been doing the DAN protocol for 1y8m now with very few gains and no big WOW's. I believe that his major issue is his low muscle tone, still can't climb onto furniture well, gets off things the wrong way (wants to use hands and go head first off of furniture) will not attempt to come down stairs, etc. (he is 4) We have tried Acetyl L-Carnitine (for over a year) and specially formulated Amino Acids from Lee Silsby, with no noticeable results. We know that hard chamber will provide FASTER results for muscle tone issues - but can't afford to go out of state to do these and do not have anywhere near us that provides the service. So mild is our only option at the moment and I would love to know if others have had results with it. TIA!! Lynn
Guest guest
I know other parents who have seen great results with soft chambers. They are going 5 days a week, I think once a day for 90 minutes. Within a week or two they are seeing results. Guest guest
Hi- We just completed a round of dives in soft chamber during May- June. We also followed the Neubrander protocol. My son was 20 months at the time with some low tone issues and a developmental delay in other areas too. Within the first week of treatments, the first thing I noticed was improved strength and balance. He seemed to be walking less like a baby and more like a little boy. We took him to the beach and he was able to walk on the sand hundreds of feet when previously he could not take more than three steps!! His feet are still extremely flat and he still has issues with his ankles, they roll down toward the ground, which makes it hard for him to run and jump still. My son doesn't have problems climbing up and down off furniture and doesn't having a problem with stairs either, but I do feel like he gained some strength so hopefully your son will gain strength in the areas he needs. Because of his age, my son loves to suck on his fingers, and we were not able to wear the mask. I am sure wearing the mask will help your son even more. We are on a three week break right now and will start treatments again next week. During the break, he is having gains in awareness, cognition and imitation. Not a major WOW like the balanceand strength but steady gains. We still don't have much language but it is slowly starting. Good luck, and be sure to address yeast as we had a major flare about a week and half into to treatment and we are still trying to get it under control. Guest guest
My son is extremely low tone and we noticed gross motor grains at dive 10 in hard chamber 100% flooded O2. All of those gains stayed after stopping and we have since dine about anoher 80 dives mHBOT at home. We are still seeing great motor gains however, his tone is still low but he is able to do more and more at OT and at home.Laureen Hi- We just completed a round of dives in soft chamber during May- June. Guest guest
Laureen, would you mind if I emailed you privately to pick your brain about your mHBOT setup at home? We have a Solace chamber and compressor, but I have to figure out which oxygen concentrator to buy for it and how the connect everything. I would love some help on how you got started and what program you're following. Guest guest
Hope I can share what we are seeing. My son did 75 dives of soft chamber back in the fall '08. We saw gains after 40. We then bought one last month and again gains were seen after the 40th dive. We lost them, however, when we stopped. As the mom of a 15 y/o I can tell you that puberty (challenging as it was) brought a shot of hormones and his muscles sprouted! He also works out which has helped him build strength. His body is awesome! He was always low tone until age 14 .
