With the milk, we started started out adding our substitute in the regular milk at a small amount. Over a week, we gradually inverted the ratio of new milk to cow's milk and that gave my son's palate time to adjust. I knew that the milk change was good because with cow's milk, my son drank nearly a gallon a day. With the new milk, he was down to a few glasses a day. You may need to do a combo milk to get a taste/consistency that your child enjoys (part rice, part hemp, part almond). Maybe doing some chocolate rice milk or almond milk will help with the transition?

We are trying this diet for the first time (even though every OT and Speech Therapist I know says they have never seen it work) and my 2 1/2 yr old son hasn't had anything to eat or drink expect juice for three days. He was severely picky before and now he won't eat anything. The DAN we just saw swears it makes a huge difference, but if he isn't talking in phrases by the end of the month I am not doing it anymore. He did not grow at all between 18-24 months and we just got him back up to 50th percentile giving him pediasure. He has regained the verbalness that he had doing that. I do not want him to starve and lose all the gains that we have had. I though maybe would could just go GF at first.

Thanks
