Prior to getting this monster I was a cook on a tow boat and traveled up and down the MS river, the TN river or one of the other rivers for at least 30 days at a time. I did that for the last 3 years that I was able to work. Before that I was in nursing home and hospital food service as a Food Service Supervisor. I had just enough knowledge of the business to be a dietitian but I never finished up my education in that field. I was also in restaurant management for almost 20 years. My favorite job was the last one. When I was diagnosed with the IPF I had to leave the company that I was working with because I became to much of a liability they said. I was told that since I needed to be on 02 for 24/7 they couldn't take the chance of something happening to me when I was to far from a dock to get medical help. I could see their point but I sure hated to give up my job.
